  • The tone is amazing :)

  • love your style, truly BUT either explain clearer what frets you play or add tab

  • @epi1959stan it is amde as a vid so that u can see the frets!! and theres also a hidden ability to pause and rewind the vid on youtube.. lol

  • a scalloped neck for blues??? THAT PREPOSTEROUS

  • @DanDeePee its personal preference...

  • I just loved the blues lick you haved, so sweet =) i learned it myself!

  • You're reaaaally amazing.. Really nice style, man!

    like it a lot!

  • rob has some how become my biggest influence in guitar in less than a week

and i love how he plays the knobs and switches as well as the strings ... he plays the whole guitar

  • i wonder what everyone thinks of a scalloped fret board

i would like to know if it is worth doing it to m guitar or not (its my only electric so i don't want to ruin it) i appreciate any feedback

  • i know the video is old, but that haircut is new xD

  • Great feel Rob. Good stuff.

  • oh great MonkeyLord,

please teach us the awesome lick at 3:48!

  • i do love your videos :), 3:49 was like oh yer im recording stop. " got a bit carryed away there" lol and the cheeky smile at 7:23 " yer look at me, impressed? "

Learned so many nice lick in a matter of 9:17 mins lol

thanks again for the videos :)

  • YOUR TONE IS INSANE WOWO

  • I have the same T-shirt like you \m/

  • Dude great lesson. Hows your band doin?

  • engwie stated in an interview that "it's actually harder to play fast" on a scalloped fretboard, iit's rather the opposite

  • john petucci look alike ..great playing

  • love those kinda thinks

  • Wow, i really like those riff when the camera was close up on your hands in the beginning. thanks for the riffs man they are awesome. i really like your blues style also.

  • You look so much younger with short hair ;-) awesome videos though^^

  • Uh.. the term is scalloped. And, yes, bends are way easier because your fingers don't rub on the fret board when bending. Ritchie Blackmore and Yngwei are the main rock guys who have this.

  • i like yout guitar. is the neck scalped because it looks like it? if so is it easier to play?

  • Well i see it's scalped too. I think that kinds makes bends alot easier

  • reminded me of hells bells

  • boooo you sold the strat . It was licky

  • Hey , should I buy this amp or shouldI buy the Blackstar HT-MINI STACK , im realy into buy the tiny terror , but I want to hear some opinions..

  • tiny terror buddy you wont regret it.

  • U LOOK LIKE TOM GREEN

  • nice shirt!

  • megadeth t-shirt!cooooooooooooooooooooooooool¡

  • I'd have to say I've shaped half my guitar playing over what this guy teaches in this and one other video, I've been playing for 21/2 years and I', "schooling" people who've been playing 6 7 years, I now have 3 guitar students and one of them has been playing for 4 years. If you bring it, this guy will turn you into a rockstar, believe it.

  • @wookietagger *Note* I meant 2 1/2, not 21 and i've not I

  • wtf can u actally show me thee friggin notes ur playing

  • use your ears and eyes? he plays it pretty slow...

  • Very nice tone!

    Wich PUPs R U runing?

  • he look like jason becker or eric clapton.

  • WERES THE EFFECTS PATIO!!!!!!!!!

  • scalloped neck...

    i want that guitar

    that amp

    and that shirt

  • blues...megadeth shirt...you have to be hardcore to do that...

  • 5:24

did he say 1x12 cab?? lawlz

  • whats funny?

  • that a 1x12 cab was loud enough so that he was told to turn it down

  • He did but it's because it actually is a 1x12 cab I know conventionally cabs are like 4 speakers but it's more common to see one to two speaker cabs now days due to the increased want for better home audio... basically... people want studio sound in their homes.

  • Tone is soooo good.

  • DOUCHE CHILL!!!

  • haha scalloped neck!

  • fantastic!! n1!

  • scalloped frets...yuck. ps this is just my opinion so don't bite my head off

  • they are pretty cool when you first use them, but after a while I can see how they could get annoying

  • it took me forever to understand why my notes didnt sound exact to yours... youre tuned down half a step? right

  • Comment removed

  • Shut the fuck up. Why you would even be concerned with how someone looks only proves two things: 1) You're a slave to your ego and 2) You're an utter douche master.

Seriously, what's wrong with his beard? You can't grow one?

  • lol douche master

    ps robs amazing XD

  • woah calm down kid i meant it as in fuck, your beard. it suits him rather well

clearly your ego lurched you towards biting someones head off?

  • Great sound and licks man. Thanks.

  • looks like scalloped frets?

  • Comment removed

  • that's a beautiful beautiful strat

  • Love the distortion! what is it?

  • It's a Tiny Terror! No distortion pedals used at all ;-)

  • i could be wrong, but im working with british combo distortion, with the bass and mid pickup on my strat, it sounds very close to this, if not identical

  • Awesome!

  • John,

Your jam at the end is stellar. Definitely worth the price of admission! Keep on pickin'.

  • Megadeth shirt and teaching the blues...schweeet!

  • @scottexpo Mr. Mustaine is pretty bluesy himself so..:P

  • @scottexpo in indonesia people will say UNYU

  • Hey your pretty badass man. Youve got great control and i can tell your experienced. I would really appreciate if you checked out my video, its not my best but its pretty good

  • this is really good, thanks for giving a free lesson!

  • Woah! What became of that shirt?! haha

  • Ha ha ya know I'm not sure...it just vanished..

  • Friggin top!!! He has his guitar scalloped all the way up the neck

  • You're awessome man :]

  • Thanks mate ;-)

  • what gear do you use to get this blues sound?

  • dude, awsome blues. really groovin

  • wat pickups are you usin

  • i really liked the blues endings...very nice video ! thanks !

  • itsa bluzy hells bells

  • where's the megadeth ?

  • Great stuff, I don't understand how it starts off major though, I thought A major contained A C# and E. Or is this a variation of a major chord??? I am just starting with chord theory so trying to get in as much info as possible

  • It's all cool stuff, but I just can't see how you can talk about modes in a Blues lesson...

And, when I hit my strings behind the nut as you do at around 6:30, i definitely do NOT get any cool sounding harmonics... Are you just really cranking the gain, or something?!

  • do you have locking nuts?

  • Nope, that's the thing!

  • Hi mate, lots of people add modal notes into blues they just don't talk it... I have a brass nut fitted to this guitar, hence the harmonics ;-)

  • Yeah, fair enough. It just sounded a little odd to me. And thanks for the info on the brass nut, i'll look into them!

  • How Yngwie of you! Haha I'm guessing that was your intent for this guitar. Those wouldn't happen to be DiMarzios then, would they?

  • Hi mate, yeah I used it when I was working on his DVD transcription ;-) They are stock pups, it was a Fender Deluxe Ash Strat in Butterscotch.

  • lost me after 2 mins... this is a show off... not a lesson imo

  • Sorry mate this absolutely not a show off... I have easier lessons available which may better suit your needs. If you want to see me show off, just watch my "ESP Horizon FRII random nonsense" video :-)

  • oh ok :) actually assumed u were gonna flame me if u answered :) thanks for not doing so :P i'll give it a look ;) peace out!

    btw: ur good :P

  • lol, why would chappers want to flame with people? :D His not like a 12 years old kid :D

  • Up close I thought that was a a scalloped fingerboard, ala-Mr. Malmsteen, haha. Anyone played a scalloped fingerboard before?

  • I thought it looked scalloped also but I think it's just shadows. I really like this guy, breaks it down into little tiny bits.

  • Hi mate, yeah this guitar is scalloped ;-)

  • i really líked lick 4 and 5 .. but the rest sucked

  • I really liked the first part of your comment... but the rest sucked

  • haha . pwned me :=)

  • wow somebody needs to cool you off cus son, you just got BURNED!

  • Tell the little wanker!

  • Your lessons are pretty much the only good lessons on youtube... the rest suck.

Thanks for them, by the way.

  • Cheers John I appreciate that mate, join my forum!

  • Your talanted but not instructional at all. The licks are great but either provide tabs or explain better what it is your really doing.

  • That was some serious groove man. Great work. It's a pity I learned only the rhythm part from the vid. I also like the riff that you did on the guitar comp video. Keep up good work!

  • Hey hey hey this is my guitar!

  • i want ure shirt...the skills come with it!

  • did u change teh pick ups in your fender?

  • I tell what I enjoyed was your tone my friend damn man!!! Excellent!! I would be smiling as well, that tone will make ya want to play all night long great job friend!!

  • is a tiny terror with a small speaker like he has enough to play a show? or at least be heard clearly over the drums?anyone recommend any good tube amps for hardcore/metal sounds besides this? thanks

  • Yes! Do a youtube search for "Rob Chappers Full volume Orange Amps"

  • what's the point of a scalloped fretboard?

  • As I understand, you can get under the strings for bending more and play faster since you're only touching the strings, not the fretboard itself (less friction, I would imagine) - also, it forces you to touch the strings lightly (lest you bend them sharp), which helps with speed and reducing fatigue (less effort wasted). I can't offer first-hand experience (scalloped axes are rather scarce), but that's what I've read and can infer from the design itself. I'd love to play one some day.

  • Oh okay, thanks for the info!

    Much appreciated!

  • Hey Chappers, quick question, in your old strats did you swap out the pups or were they stock?

  • cool... a scalloped strat.. haha.

  • lots to learn; thanks blueclay

  • as always , chappers style !

    btw , i like your strat :)

  • That's Hell's Bells!

  • Hey Rob. Just wanted to say thanks so much for all the vids you do, i think ive watched all of them. About a year ago i decided to focus on acoustic and although all your teaching is on electric, ive been apply it to acoustic very effectively. Also have learnt alot from watching lexi play to recently. Thanks again and keep rocking!

  • Good lesson man o/

    And nice shirt too!

  • great video! specially cuz you're not only playing pentatonic minor licks. I liked those myxolidyan and dorian licks, i would appreciate more!

    thaks

  • Are you using your Vintage Signature in this Chappers?

    Are you watching BSC tonight?

  • just the distortion in the orange amp?nice!!!

  • what effects are u using here?

  • Hi mate, no effects here at all :-)

  • I just bought the guitar cab PPC112 to match my TT. However it comes with Celestion G12K-100 instead of Celestion V30. What might be the difference in sound? Thank you in advance. Great vid btw.

  • Hello Mr. Chappers! I'm getting ready to purchase my first Strat model guitar and I was wondering how you would say this compares to the American Stratocaster and the made in Mexico Stratocaster?

  • Ahh I'm sorry, meant to post this on the video where you were using the vintage v6 ;<_ <

  • Good lesson man, the licks remind me of Great White.

  • Holy Chappers! Woop woop. Nice vid. Just got the TT and 112 cab- what an amp. The cleans are incredible but that gain is pure filth. Love the breakup at around 1 o clock. So loud too. Great vids, much appreciated!

  • Hi mate! Congratulations on your new amp,it is an awsome machine :-)

  • That was my first thought, but once he gets started on teaching, it's blues bro.

  • LOL!!!

  • hmmmm, Scallops and a Brass nut. Your the man chappers!

    Are those Dmarzios?

  • Could you do more videos like this one?

    Please..?

    Pretty please..?

  • I'm not saying you can't play because you can. BUT, and that is an EXTREMELY BIG BUT, that is NOT blues

  • hehe, you are right man that's trashhh metalll :-P

  • good playing, be easier to lear if u wernt tuned 1/2 step down though

  • Very hot playing brother! I like that great roadhouse strat tone you got goin there!

  • Thanks mate :-)

  • love that Deth shirt

  • Does that guitar have scallopped frets??

  • Yes it has a shallow scallop and a brass nut :-)

  • Dude, seriously, you truly rock..

can you talk a bit about effects? you seem the person for that =p you have your fretboard kind of carved like Malmsteen, cool.. what is it for? LOL i never understood that LOL The Super Tiny Terror ROCKS!

regards, Mate.. please move to Portugal LOL you can bring your wife too and there won't be none of that kick-ass'ing you talked about.. haha

  • Thanks mate I appreciate that :-) I would talk about effects if I really used any.. I think alot of guys buy loads of effects pedals because they are just frustrated with there playing and want to buy something to help find "there sound"..Just get a killer amp, and a guitar that feels right, 80% of tone comes from your hands. Having said that, I use a Boss delay sometimes, and an MXR MC401 boost :-)

  • Hey Chappers ! Love the videos, How much you looking at for a tiny terror ? Would u count it as one of your killer amps ??

  • Yeah mate it's my favourite amp!

  • Hey Rob, Great video!

I am wanting to get a Tiny Terror, but I am wondering how much headroom this thing has? Can you gig at clean volumes, and heck, can you gig with the gain on?

  • Dude watch my video "Orange Amp Full Volume" for a full volume band demo of the TT. You can't gig it crystal clean, but you can dirty or crunch.

  • You look like a young George Formby.

Do you know any Lancashire half-wit tunes?

"When I`m cleaning windows" is awesome

  • You look like a young Eric Clapton ...Oh you rock! check out my videos...Thanks

  • Thanks mate, I will do :-)

  • nice vids dude, think you should move to york so you can be my teacher!!

  • Ha ha.. I would love to mate, but my wife might kick my ass :-)

    Move to sunny England

  • haha, its york as in yorkshire, up north!!! its still classed as england!!! nice work mate!

  • bring the tabs man!:)

  • You are the kind of musician with no ears involved. Use your ears, and eyes. The ears is the most importent thing when we're talkin about music. tab freak.

  • hey man

Im looking into this amp but i dunno what to get!

I play mostly White Stripes style music so im looking at either this or the blues junior amp by Fender!

Dunno what to go for because i want a diverse amp that can do most styles of music and not just a Blues tone monster!

hope to hear some advise from you.

(oh and id be running this amp through a Big Muff pedal)

    Please help me man :P

  • Hi mate, the Tiny Terror is perfect for you! If you don't like it I would be amazed :-) Just try one out for yourself and don't take my word for it.

  • hey man.

got my Tiny Terror 2 days ago and I cant keep away from the thing!

its completely awesome and 100% worth every penny i spent on it. very very good amp.

Thanks for the recommendation - The latest member of the Orange Army!

  • Do it mate stick up a video , I'll watch it :-)

  • Thanks for your great lessons mate!
