MAB invented the Over Under technique and has a lot of different variations of it that he uses nowadays. Look at the Metal Method videos. He hasn't slowed down at all and he is extremely accurate live.

Is it me, or is MAB slowing down a little bit in his hand speed for the over-under technique? Watching this video and comparing to his speed lives video from back around 1990 (the one with the Gold's Gym shirt)...it seems like he as a lot more lightning fast back then. He's still very quick here...but it just doesn't look like his hand movements are as quick as before, even though it sounds the same rhythm-wise. Just more precise in movement or something? I know he's in his 50's now, I think.

Actually...it seems that he uses various techniques in different shows. For instance, in some shows, I see that he doesn't do the over-under as much. He just plays a regular fill-in pattern as to doing the over-under for both parts of No Boundaries. But in some, he goes all-out for both parts. Like the video that is on youtube from "Live in Taipei"...at the ending of that, he was quicker than in his speed lives video from back in the early 90's or late 80's, whenever it was made. Still going. :)

I guess he just plays according to how he feels. I'm sure it must be pretty strenuous on his arm to do that so much, and I remember where he told a story one day about somebody shutting a car door on his hand, and he had to play his whole show in pain because it bruised his fingers and knuckles. But he pulled it off...not bad for 50's. I'd love to see one of his shows live someday. Just not in...Taipei, that's a little far to go. lol
