  • One of my most treasured possessions in my teens was a VHS tape of a few episodes of 120 Minutes, and this video was one of the highlights of that tape.

  • Next month sounds better. <3

  • I'm going to see them in November. :)

  • beavis and butthead wouldnt let me watch past :50

  • @jrusso852 well, there are a few of us out here in the ether that still play this sound...unfortunately, it's kind of hard to get gigs because we don't scream over recycled metal riffs. But there are still those that appreciate us!

  • Best song to listen when your watching the stars

  • Aw maaaan the guitar in this roasts me... My God.... YES....

  • @jrusso852 It didn't completely dissapear, it's just back to being underground like it was a decade before Nevermind came out. New grunge bands I've found: Violent Soho, Pet Salad, The Chocolate, Sick Sick Sister, Paradox, Pissed jeans, and more but those are the ones I remember right now. Oh, and there's this new band called SMB Project that sent me the video for their song Lights and Sounds which reminds me a lot of Smashing Pumpkins.

  • whoa, before this I only knew about this song/video from Beavis and Butthead and I thought it was seriously only like 21 seconds long because that how much of it they watch haha

glad I actually listened to this though because it's really good, reminds me of something between Deftones and Smashing Pumpkins

  • Glad i live in Seattle where we have tons of grunge stations, because its such a great style...

  • It doesn't matter what you call it, alternative, grunge whatever. It's just a good song so who cares???

  • rip grunge

  • That is not a classical influence that I detect in this number is it? naww.....

  • long live the 90's!

  • @lumapas comments like this need to be at the top, and i'm not Goku but i'm just saiyan.

  • @jrusso852 id pick anything over the shit thats around now. Its a boring musical climate now, all this shit blog bands sound the same

  • found this coz of saints row 2 :)

  • @dudesonsrock23 same here

  • @beaglemonster I'm really glad i found it, because it's an amazing song

  • @jrusso852 many of the bands from the 90's are still around, they just don't get air play anymore, hell where I live we don't even have an alternative station anymore but those bands influenced bands like breaking benjamin

  • Damn you, 240p.

  • One of the most underated songs of the 90's. Cadillac brings it back from the dead.

  • @AscoliChaChaCha

HA, IT DID INDEED ! NICE TV ADD TOO !

  • completely forgot about this until I just heard it on ITUnes radio. Cools song!

  • Love this song.

  • so im watching REPO genetic opera and a friend of mine wass like look up this song so im like whatever...eh not my cup of tea

  • @nathan5972 good for you.

  • we recorded an album that went nowhere with matt back in '01. who cares, you can do the same for cheap and have a great memory! do it.

  • i was outside having a smoke last night, the sky was super clear so i was able to see all the stars and then bam this song popped in my head and i was like "ohhh yeaahhh, i remember this song!! gotta look it up tomorrow for sure" :D

  • @Niika6666 me too yo.. same exact thing...

  • everybody search for Nemo - Bleary-Eyed Me, it's the closest thing to Hum I have ever heard!

  • you get 10 points if you know this song.

  • @fullcollpase woot i got 10 points then rofl

  • @jrusso852 That's because they are so unique and nobody can be like them. lol

  • Who Else Heard This Song On Saints Row 2? :P

  • @liamsandez i heard it a lil b4 saints row 2 but i neve rknew who sang this song untill then

  • look forward to seeing them at Fun Fun Fun Fest in November!

  • @jrusso852 I dunno man, check out Polvo, Low, Medications, Fugazi... there are tons of bands still making stuff though they don't all have exactly the same sound. I wouldn't say Hum sounds like Pearl Jam or Smashing Pumpkins though either.

  • @xxxdementia Fugazi have been split up for years.

  • coisa chata

  • @TimmyDisorder Who are you to make the call between what is grunge and what isnt? so shut up it was made in the 90s and for 100 percent has grunge attributes in this song.. so u just look stupid with ur stargazing BS NO excuse me.... SHOEGAZER?? WTF?

  • @drummerbroseph79 IMO, I would have to disagree as well, but understand what you're saying about the style of this song. HUM is considered either "math/science" rock or like your friend stated, "shoegaze". Hell, you could throw "90's emo" in the mix...but not grunge. Yes, HUM was formed in the 90's when grunge rock was born and critics had a habit of labeling just about every rock band "grunge". Pure ignorance. If you haven't already, I read more about HUM and its members!!

  • @Terror4Tom I'm thinking more of the many subgenres that came from grunge/alternative rock. HUM is math/science/SPACE/ 90's emo rock. I would separate HUM from most of the popular 90's grunge rock bands! HUMs sound really stood out to me when I, in my teens at the time, first heard them. A few years later, Modest Mouse would have that same effect even when I had already discovered and listened to a "ton" of mainstream to indie music.

  • i cant believe their from champaign ill

  • @jrusso852 Shoegazer. Hum was never grunge. It is shoegazer. And "alternative" has become so bastardized you should ask your best friend to slap you in the face for using the word. But yeah, this is music. Solid music.

  • 90's bands are the best...and if you dont think so...youre dead inside

  • 3:41 ftw

  • Butthead: Whoa! Is this song like over huh huh huh huh?!

  • real music.

  • Thumbs up if Beavis and Butthead brought you hear

  • I listened to this song for so long trying to get an understanding of rhythmatic sounds because this song just did it for me, and there are just certain ways of playing the guitar that create this sound that is so simple and if you have the ability to write tight lyricaly you could bring this genre back to the forefront again.......I won't quit until i nail it......yeah i'm 41 but I didnt pick up a guitar till I was 26 and I mean 26 I never picked one up before that. ...i.keep goin to open mics

  • one of the best bands ever. totally under rated.

  • this reminds me of my local alternative radio station which was just kicked off the

air not too long ago i heard it a lot thru out my childhood and the finally had to look it up glad i did will be in my music collection for years to come

  • @menaman92 Could it be q101 by any chance? :]

  • @TheGrrrlRocker haha. the reason i'm hear is to try and relive the last days of that station. RIP q101. i must say they did go out with a bang!

  • @TheGrrrlRocker yes it is

  • @menaman92 Fucking sucks they're off the air man,

  • @menaman92 the second I entered metropolitan Chicago I would turn to Q101 everytime I was up there. Can't believe they took it off...

  • Someone played this song at a party I was at last night and literally everyone just stopped talking and listened to it. By the end they were just like "Wow, that was good"

  • It was a pretty magical time to be a 18 year old dude with a guitar. I have to say. We had some killer bands. I got to go backstage at Lollapalooza 2 the summer before I went to RISD and meet all the bands. It was exactly like almost famous. They were super nice to us.

  • @sailorblumoon punk is heavier sorry, lyrically and musically. but not saying grunge doesn't rule!

  • NOW! This when music mattered MOST!!!! Red Hot, Soundgarden, NIRVANA, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots (STP), Alice in Chains (AIC) exc....... I can go on! Everything has change dramatically....... :(

  • Fucking intense...Love it...

  • i hate admitting this but i saw this video when it first came out and i was frying on acid but it was truly the most awesome thing i ever experienced, but beside that fact HUM will always be my top 5 favorite bands of all time, no one makes music like this anymore

  • @Travdog26 dude, how was the acid? i need to try it...

  • love, love, love it.

  • I effin' love this song. I hear some heavy Pumpkins influence here. Good Pumpkins infuence at that.

  • I personally would never limit myself to a single genre of music because i believe that all genres have the potential to be mentally stimulating. But, for a while Hum was all that i listened to. I woke up to it, brushed my teeth to it, ate to it, rode to school listening to it, rode the bus back to it, did homework to it, and went to sleep to it. Hum is so damn good that i actually paid for their music.

  • i am just egg and sperm and i love this song.

  • This band is why I made a band.

  • @67Troutmaster awesome scam bro i hope you find some willing idiot to send you money some day

  • Good Lord, I miss 90's rock music so bad. I know there is quality music in every generation, but it's just not the same. Kick-ass rock music was the popular music in the 90's. The Pumpkins, HUM, Jane's Addiction, Pearl Jam, Sonic Youth, The Pixies, Faith No More, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Porno for Pyro's, Mudhoney, Nirvana, and on and on. (Lone tear drops to the floor)

  • Who compose this song

  • Chur bros, Who compose this song,

  • I'm an ageless, invincible android sent from another dimension to destroy the world, and I also think this song is awesome.

  • This song definitely didn't get the recognition its getting today as opposed to when it first came out, I can honestly say that I was a fan and recognized its significance from the beginning.

  • @Desperadounico good for you brah

  • @Desperadounico lul fag

  • @Desperadounico This song is kick-ass, don't get me wrong, but in my opinion Downward is Heavenward is HUM's best work. Not that "You'd Prefer an Astronaut" didn't change my life a lil' bit.

  • The great HUM hails from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.

  • these guys stole my song

    honestly

  • BAD BRAINS - BANNED IN DC ( THIS BAND AND SONG IS COOL )
