That's so cute! I bet he (she?) does that all day just do get treats. I've seen all of the other tricks, that's one smart dog. I always loved Samoyed's. I'd have one if it wasn't for the economy right now -.-
You are right , he does this many times when we learn new stuff and he isn't really sure yet what I want from him ... But I didn't find out yet if he only tries to get a treat with that behavior because he likes it or he is actually shy because of confusion (just kidding!:)).
I believe you can learn any dog what ever you want (beyond dog's physical abilities of course). Just the needed time and the right approach varies from dog to dog.
