  • my savage is running at a high tempreture how can i adjust it so it isnt so high

  • @camolads22 Sounds like your just running too lean, at idle and take off you should see some good smoke but not a huge cloud. While full out you should see a trail with good power, if you see little to no smoke you are just making noise frying your engine.

    Running on the rich side will make your motor last forever, 1 really lean run can mean never running right again and needing a new 1

  • I got mine doing over 65mph on NOS and 25%nitro running 47x20 gearing..The one way bearing thing has been a problem but only when cold...Quick hit with the heat gun and they come good...Have replaced a fair few parts..The clutch bell needs to be set up perfectly to ensure smooth running but apart from that they have been pretty good..Squatted the shocks to about 1inch ground clearance with std wheels to get it to handle..Beat my mates Jato 3.3 in a drag race over 250ft on nos...Takes a beating!

  • @Dec0dog On my 3rd engine now from pushing the limits of the nitrous...but found the RB nozzle 2 works best..or 3 (if ya wanna run hard) Thats about all the 5.9's can handle..(The nos kit is desinged for the Baja..lol)..They run super hard on nos..Just be prepared to blow a few glow plugs if you wanna boost it for too long!...LOL

  • why the fuck do people say "you have no idea your doing it wrong" we know its wrong becouse we have done it a few times or alot of times if your like me .. but to someone new to rc it tells them in the dam instructions to do it this way... most of them are only folloing the instruction that came with the car... i myself lernt the hard way that this methood is crap as it fucked my first rc car ..

  • thats to cold it need to be at least 100'C at he first tank or the engine will lose commprasion whan its at his operating temp. and you got tuning issues

  • i dont see what good idleing and runing it cool does? you need to work the motor and have it runing warmer so the sleeve and piston will expand and seat better. i think the traxxas method is way better. or squirrles method

  • You have no idea do you? That motor needs to run around 200 farenheit for break in.....And drive it, don't just idle it.

  • Well, when breaking in your nitro/glow engines, I like to keep the temps around 200 farienghit, or a little less than 100 celcius

  • Your temp was way too low for break in. You should be at 200 degrees F ASAP and driving it on the ground. You are also adjusting idle with throttle trim, another no-no. Your rotor start issues likely occured because you never lost the engines 'pinch' due to too cold of a break in. It never really kroke in.

  • it's in celcius and plus different engines have different temp ranges

  • It's still way too low of temp for break in. Conver 200F to C...

    This applies to HPI engines as well, sorry.

  • We both sold em.

    Mine because the one-way kept bugging me, rotorstart would just spin freely. Even after changing the problem came back after a few runs.

  • it depends on brands and wat percent like my nitro percent is 20 and i get trinity fuel its like purple and xtm fuel is blue

  • he,s runnin that nitro monster truck to hot a rc car heat should only hover between 210 degrees or at the very most 220

  • 210 degrees F = 98.9 degrees C

    His readings never exceeded 60 degrees C. So where's the issue?

  • the savage xl handles a lot better than the x. dont take me wrong i have an x and its great but the xl smokes it in handling. you also geat steel spur gears and harded axles over the x plastic spur and normal axles.

    so for 150 bux more than the x, the xl is better

  • do you reckon the savage x ss is better than standered x 4.6 cuz it has all the hardend stuff on it diff cups axels and spur gear

  • the temp gun when you take the temp from the pipe is wrong because temp guns can not measure polish things such as pipe!
