  • Superb version of this great toon! :)

  • Ha! Thanks!

  • Great job Joe!! Your energy and enthusiasm is quite infectious...they are lucky to have you. Keep up the great work.

  • Thank you - but I am also "lucky" to have them, and all the other gigs and audiences that allow me to continue as a full-time gigging musician. Blessed is a better word..

  • @joeholtsnotes2008 ... just catching up old buddy ! have a great season . don't worry about the tappetc lol !

    you are still a master ! !

  • @fingerscarr Ha! thanks! And happiness to you!!

  • I am surfing the tea for twos on Tube. The best versions sound as if 2-5s are the universe's centre of joy, and as if elaborating 2-5 is the most exuberantly joyful thing a person can do!

    Perhaps it is.

And good on you for entertaining the old folk.

  • What do you mean by 2-5 ?

  • Oh sorry must be the chords, now that I think of it ...

  • Yes Mr Free, I mean the chords: 2-5 is the most common progression in jazz.

    In the key C, the 2-5 is D minor and G7, which are the 2nd and 5th degrees of the major scale: c d e f g a b c. Tea for Two is a definitive 2-5 tune.

  • Yes, and I would even say one of the best 2-5 tune, IMO !

  • slip on shoes are the answer mate ! no one would notice ! take care

  • hmmmmm.....

  • hi joe , what can i say ! ! ! , have added to favourites . very sensitively played with feeling and swing , have a few other comments though ! ! ! bit i liked best was from about 4.15 , bit i liked least , only a tiny bit mind you , where you were tempted to do the tap , tap ,tap bit à la your other rendition on which we spoke before . cheers

  • Thank you! The extraneous movements and sounds elicit annoyance in some. These, though, are involuntary: part of the "package" (for me) that comes with "transcending" myself in order to connect with the music (and you). When in the recording studio, I remove my shoes. Sometimes am tempted to do this also in live performances, but am a little hesitant :)
