The old white-haired guy in the Hubba Bubba commercials was veteran character actor Parley Baer (best known as the mayor on "The Andy Griffith Show"), while the cowboy would go on to do health insurance commercials in Arizona.
@seanmc31076 Yup, and the losing gunfighter is pockmarked faced Anthony James. Played various bad guys, henchman and gunslingers in everything going all the way back to the 1960's in Gunsmoke, Bonanza and played Skinny the saloon/whore keeper in Unforgiven.
I always watched this! I just heard it and knew it was on. Hubba Bubba was big back because it was soft. Roller skates was big in disco and Hollywood. They are still trying to get roller skating into the Olympics.
Thw freakish futurism of the IN THE NEWS theme music creeps me out as much today as it did 30 years ago...it's like the soundtrack for an alien abduction.
@whedonfreak976 They don't do this anymore because the news has replaced most of the Saturday morning programming nowadays, and there are plenty of 24 hour news stations, and then you can look up these news stations online. Why watch a 2 minate segment when you can get as much stuff you need and more every hour on the hour and then some.
Hi seanmc31076 I want a clip with Tarzan, Batman, Manta & Moray, Mighty Mouse, Captain Marvel, Isis, Fat Albert and Jason from Jason of Star Command in the In the News Segments because I remember them all back then!
@heine71 Also don't forget Popeye, Commander Gampu from Space Academy, Batman, Tarzan, Jason of Star Command and characters from Tarzan and the Super 7 did In The News Intros also.
