yah honestly rio ur a very ignorant person....the best way for u to find out is why don u challenge a good Kyokushin fighter to a stand up fight then post the vid
How come you can watch a Muay Thai fight and they're kicking the shit out of each other without flinching, yet these guys are consistently going down like a 12 year old girl?
Once again, how come you watch a Muay Thai fight and they're KICKING the shit out of each other without flinching
They don't wear gloves on the shins. These guys are going down with kicks to the ribs, legs, and stomach.
You're right about a well placed kick to the temple. I guess that's why boxers, and other real fighters keep their hands up huh? These guys could learn something from that.
well first you need to understand the difference between muay thai and karate. in karate, the fights don't go 10 rounds. karate is meant to finish the opponent with one shot, aka ICHIGEKI. So the amount of force and concentration on just a single punch or kick isn't the same as MT. An example would be how a karate practitioner breaks concrete blocks with their punches and kicks.
i'm sure you've heard the term "Kiai", which literally is applying all the concentration and power to one single force, whether that is a kick, punch, or etc. my kyokushin instructor actually explained this to me and it made me feel great that i chose karate over other combat styles. in boxing, for example, you train to punch by mimicking the correct form of the instructor or whatever.
in karate you actually do the same but also at the same time, you TRAIN YOUR CONSCIENCE to actually apply devastating power to that attack. that is why karate matches end relatively quick. also Muay Thai do use gloves. Now imagine a MT fighter punching you in the body without gloves. and actually anyone who gets kicked in the jaw or temple or neck would get knocked the fuck out.
thats just the way it works dude. and if this does not convince you the power of kyokushin, then you should go train in a kyokushin dojos. most dojos let you try out for free. just for info, some famous kyokushin fighters are Chuck Liddel, St. Pierre, Peter Graham, Nicholas Pettas, and ofcourse Andy Hug. Also, I believe the Discovery Channel is doing a special called FightQuest, and they focuc on many combat styles around the world.
they will feature kyokushin on this show. also the rules of kyokushin tournament is, no punch to the face. but a kick or knee is allowed to the head. so naturally, fighters will go full force on punching each others body. as a result, we develop strong tolerance on body shots. we are trained to keep hands up but you cant really help it when most punches and kicks are coming for your body.
and finally, kyokushin karate is tournament based. not a one fight that day that goes for 12 rounds, meaning you fight many people on that same day. and guess what??? there are no weight divisions in karate like Muay Thai. 160lbs fighter can end up fighting a 250lbs fighter. this is why Russians and Brazilians are somewhat dominating kyokushin tournaments nowadays. Also think about it, would a real fight on the street last so long? hope all this gave you better info on Kyokushin. Osu!
I've trained in American Karate, jiu-jitsu, muay thai, and tai ji.
All of them teach composure under pressure, which almost all of these guys fail to display. Fine, you want to make the case that these strikes are the most deadly on the planet. Ok, we'll play that, but why the dramatics?
like i said, try kyokushin karate before you call them 12 year old girls. or else you are just being ignorant. muay thai and jiu jitsu for all i know have weight divisions. try fighting full contact with someone much bigger than you in size, weight, and height. with no weight divisions, the two fighters have no equal strength, reach, or advantage. its basically somewhat an unfair match in most cases.
its like putting a welter weight class boxer against a middle weight or a heavy weight fighter. does that sound easy or fair? even 10 lbs make a huge difference when you start pounding the crap out of each other. i'm not so sure what American karate is, but one thing you have to know is that Kyokushin does have its own history and lots of great legends came from this martial art style. i respect all other styles too.
it looks like little gay men trying to kick each other's balls or something. GOD, that must be painful... *really, a lot of times i think i saw them trying to hit each other's BALLS* i've seen better stuff... i think.
The best KO at 2:00 !!!

maybe because they are not using gloves. and a solid kick to the temple or the neck will knock anyone down.
