To be honest, Gerrard has been fouled, but he does con the referee.
Gerrards shirt is being pulled, which is the foul, not enough t make him go down, but still, its an ilegal move. Yet, this starts outside the box, and listen to Andy Gray, he comments on it spot on; Gerrard waits and waits, and as soon as he gets into the 18 yard box, bang down he goes.
It was a foul, and the red card was deserved, but itshould of led to a free kick, yet Gerrard cons the referee into giving more.

No it should have been and was a penalty because it says in the laws of the game that a holding offence is punished where it finishes not where it starts, so if an attatcker is smart they will wait untill they get in the box to go down if their shirt is being pulled.

Smart? He is just a diver plain and simple. If you look clearly he was moving away from goal gradually and he was catching up so its not denieing a goal scoring opertunity so it isnt a red. Howard would have got to the ball before Gerrard so he dived. It should have been a free kick atleast.

There is no rule in the game that states a player has to be sent off if he is the 'last man', the rule for sending off is for the denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity. However in this case, the first offense is by Gerrard for shielding the ball by placing his arm across Hibbert. Poor refereeing by Clattenberg

Shocking. Gerrard grabbed hold of Hibbett first, so Hibbett did the same back. They both got into the area, once Gerrard realised his, he left his right leg in and went down. Ref was gonna give a yellow, Gerrard moaned and suddenly the ref produces a red card instead. Hypocrite fucker.
