I'm going to a music festival in June, It's a 5 days event and I won't be using my phone constantly but typical iPhone it'll eventually run out of juice, would you recommend this to help me last 5 days?
hmm my friends is like this but then his one is quite thick n 2 get the phone out u have 2 push a button at the back n the on button 2 recharge is also at the back any idea wut it is?
@K4RLH1 Interesting, it should be able to sync properly (I recall being able to sync mine). If after reading the syncing instructions you cannot get it to sync I would contact Exogear. Hope this helps!
Great review however I would love a battery case that doubles if not a little more than doubles, has a kickstand (I hate Evo 4g for that), amplifies (sorry for misspellings) sound of iPhone, syncs and dual charging, very slim, doesn't exceed $80, led indicators, switch on/off and offers coverings for the bottom and all around, also comes with a plugin covering for the headphone jack since I hate dust and my 3GS had trapped dust and u can't take that out.
does the case have an on/off switch? if not, at around what percent does the case start charging the phone? also the how stable is the phone with the bumper? it looks like it'll just fall off. stuck between this or the aigo
@arcticrecon Yes it does have an on off switch. I would say it is very stable with the bumper. I still like the feel of the ExoGear Exolife overall, but the Aigo's built in USB cable is a real big +. Hope this helps!
@TekBeatV I have to say that you are my favorite reviewer because you tell it like it is (caveats). Is this your favorite external battery case for the iPhone 4? Also does it feel "cheap", do you think that plastic frame that goes around it durable enough? That's what I'm seeing with others' review of this battery case. Thanks!
@reebsotr Awesome, yea I pride myself on being honest in my reviews, so if a product has downsides I will mention it :). My personal favorite for battery case is the Exogear Exolife as of currently the Aigo aiPower i616 is second due to the built in USB cable :). It does not feel cheap at all if anything it feels awesome in the hand :). Hope this helps! And I appreciate the kind words and support! :)
when u plug it in to charge... its charging the battery of the case AND the battery of the phone?? or just the case, and then the case recharges the phones battery??
if its the second one then you have to:
first charge the case, then the phone through the case and then the case again to have fully charged both??
How difficult is it to access the volume buttons and the mute switch? Do I need to use my nails to use the volume? Any issues with headphones? What are the exact dimensions of the product as manufactures website does state. Any recommendation for carry pouch's or something to keep it from getting scratched while I am at work lol.
@MrNice399 Not difficult at all, pressing them is a breeze (not deep at all). No issues with headphone jacks not being able to plug in properly, worked wonders. The dimensions are approximately 6 centimeters x 12 centimeters x 1.5 centimeters :). No pouches that I know of that will fit the entire case (without being loose etc.) but if you are worried about scratches or fingerprints, stay tuned as ExoGear may have a solution for you, I am in contact with them about a new product ;).
@TekBeatTV can you confirm anything about it? like will this "new product" like for this one you point out how laying it flat will not protect the front. could this be something they include cuz i am definitely one of those people
hey, 2 questions! 1, if I have a protective skin on my phone (the whole body) do you think it would still fit?
and also, if I plug the case into the USB and like charge it for the night, does it also charge my phone too?
I know mophie or some other pack did that where it would charge your iPhone first then charge the case itself. I would be pretty disappointed if I had to charge my phone AND the case. maybe an alternative to that would be to keep the case on (charging the device) while IT get
@MikoNotChino Hey! For your first question, sorry to say but you will not be able to fit the phone in the ExoLife if you have a full body shield but if it is just the front you will be fine :). As for your second question I usually plug mine (while in the case) and by morning both are fully charged, I am not 100% if it charges the case first then the phone or vice versa, but most of the time after only a night (bout 6 hours) both are fully charged. Hope this helps! :)
@mushtie1977 Nope mine snaps on quite tightly. You might want to double check if the clipped areas around the sides really have clipped on. At first this made me think it was loose but once they all snapped, it was nice and tight. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the great video/review this made me decide more easily to buy this product, I hope I will get it soon, because I live in The Netherlands, a little bit expensive shipping costs, but you can not buy it here. :( Keep up the great reviews thanks again...
@kretekroker No problem, glad I could help and thank you for the encouragement comments likes yours make me continue doing what I'm doing and knowing at least it's making a difference :).
This smart looking case gave me great battery life for the day; I was wondering how the plastic would hold if I were to drop the phone on the pavement; to me it seems the case could possibly crack; unless the plastic is high strength...; your thoughts?
@newmac The plastic border around the phone (that iPhone 4 shaped ring in the video) might crack as it is thin but the batter case itself (the black part of the case with the connector) should withstand a drop pretty well. Hope this helps!
@allforthegators Well how it works is it will charge your phone till max the first time you plug it in, then it will shut itself off. Turn it back on if you want to charge it back up. Hope this helps!
Nice dude it looks great. Oh BTW, people on the forums were talking about other good case reviews besides mtp and carlos, So I told them to check out your channel. Hope it helps :)
@techdude6693 Thanks I have reached another goal of mine for this year thanks to subscribers and supporters like you :). I'll keep doing what I do and hopefully you guys will continue watching the videos which I hope help you make the decisions on products that are really fit for you :).
@TekBeatTV haha ya, I saw ur goals on you channel, only 1 left to go! Are you going to be getting the New Ivyskin case? I think its called the quattro
I really like the design of the case, it's a shame that's there's no lay on the table design but I guess a screen shield would solve that. I've used the Incase Power Slide in the past for my 3G but was not really happy with it, the charge meter was inaccurate and never would keep a charge even when I exchanged it for another one. This on the other hand looks more promising and I definitely want to check it out.
Thanks for the great review man and again congrats on the partnership!
@MacintoshUser1986 Yea that was a slight bummer. The ExoLife does much better and the meter is pretty accurate. Definitely go check it out and you can always ask questions (they are really good about answering). If you have any other questions let me know :). It's my goto case for when I know I'm going to need the extra usage time. Thanks for the compliment and appreciate the continued support! :)
These rechargeable cases are fantastic except for one major caveat. If you already use a protective case for the iPhone, you will have to remove that case in order to plug into the charger.
I opt for a rechargeable unit that plugs into the phone using an adapter and usb chord. Te benefit of that allows you to charge other usb devices other than just the iPhone. Of course carrying this type of charger around requires you to carry the chord and the adapter so its not a perfect solution either.
@txmoney Yea completely know where you're coming from. That's why products like HyperMac exist still as it's still good to have a extra backup battery to charge other devices. But the all in one is also nice just depends on what you plan on using it for :). Thanks for the comment and continued support!
@sralaliberte Thanks! :) Appreciate the continued support, it really does help me get more video reviews out to you guys :). Congratz on the future new ExoLife but bummer on emptying yourself of 90 bucks (I hate emptying my wallet but new technology is too hard to resist not getting haha)
Is this better than the Mophie or is the Mophie better
