  • Somehow I missed this one! I totally agree with you...I didn't know better with my first child and potty training took 6 months (I started because my second was coming and I didn't want 2 in diapers, lame)! With my second I learned my lesson, and even though I had my second and third in diapers at the same time, waiting until he was ready was TOTALLY worth it!

  • Great video!! :) Riley is about 95% potty trained. :)

  • As soon as you said "parking lot," I lost it laughing. LOL. My girl isn't even close to being potty-trainable, and I already know I'm going to be "that mom," too!!!

  • Love it! I was browsing some of my old blog posts and came across this:

"As far as potty training goes... I really think I should start. I don't because, honestly, it's sort of a pain in the butt. I was thinking of waiting until summer when he can just run naked in the backyard but..."

See! You are not the only one!

  • My nephew was so used to peeing outside that when he went to daycare, he tried to pull down his pants on the playground to pee!

  • thank you my son is still young but is good to know how other mommies do it (since is my 1st)

  • looks like deacon has been potty trained for a long time before you guys decided to put him in underwear. both of mine were trained at around 22 months of age. Let them pick out some cool undies and encouraged them not to ruin them. That was it!

  • Isn't that the truth! The first few weeks are a pain in the butt because they have to go NOW! And hey IM not above peeing in a parking lot if I absolutely had no other choice ;) who has time to be a diva :)

  • Hey could you email me I have a few questions about potty training MarissaDavis29@gmail.com

  • This video was super insightful so thank you for making it! My son is 17 months old and ive been dancing around the idea of at least intoducing the "small potty" because he's at the point where he tells me when he's going number two and is very interested in sitting on the potty but after watching this i think im going to hold off a little because he is still pretty young and there is plenty of time and there is no way this momma is spending a year potty training haha

  • The beginning of this video made my day, thank you :)

  • Great Video. I wish I saw this months ago. I tried to potty train my son at 2 and he fought it sooo much. So I was tired because I had a new born at the time..so I stopped. Then at 2.3 months he asked to go "pee pee in toilet"...lol and since then we just threw out the diapers and he has had one accident since then. When they are ready potty training is beyond easy. :)

  • i am so with 100% with letting them be ready! Alister knew himself when he was ready also it was a breeze compared to some peoples experience!

  • You look beautiful! Love your vids! :0)

  • Oops entered my comment too early. I also wanted to say thanks for the video! My daughter is 18 months and we have another on the way (in May, she will then be 22 months). I've been tossing whether to start training her now (only to have me running back and forth to the potty with her and a newborn in tow), or to wait until she is ready and hopefully this new baby will be past newborn stage. It honestly sounds like such a pain to go out of the house with a potty-trained toddler - I'm lazy I gue

  • You look really pretty here!!!

  • I have 5 kids of my own. but have raised and still raising 2 more. besides my love how just turned 18. and I agree when they are ready u will now. but in some cases like my son how has altruism. we had to learn alot of lil tips and treats

  • One of the children I nanny that is a little over 2 is doing most of those signs she'll take her diaper off and go sit on the potty and pee but she will not poop on there and she'll tell me when she has to go pee, but not poop. Do you have any advice for that or did he just go poop on his own too?

  • what a funny dog! Paw in the air!

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who's husband was lazy with potty training. Once I realized he wasn't really helping, I decided I'd just do it on my own! I'm proud to tell everyone I potty trained my son! :o) I remember people telling me how much easier life gets when you have a potty trained child, it totally is! He's been potty trained for about 4 months now, and I still to this day tell him "Great Job Buddy!"

  • My sister in law keeps a portrays bucket on the car. It is a old container with a lid. They drive a lot so it get handy on commutes and trips

  • Not a lame video at all! Seems like a very good idea, just picking up on his cues and going with it! Had to laugh at your "peeing in the parking lot" comment ;)

  • Congrats! Have you ever heard of elimination communication? It's awesome, I think you'd be interested for this babe! check it out online or Diaper Free Baby book is great.

  • i babysit a little man who is going to be 3 next month- he is not even close to being potty trained! and he has an older brother who was the same.

the 35 month old still has a pacifier and his older brother was again the same. I feel like the older bro was off his paci and potty trained earlier than this but i could be wrong but like the younger one even still has a bottle. in my opinion they are beyond babying him and of course it none of my business but isn't he too old for these things?!

  • Sorry using my new Ipad keyboard and I entered my comment too early. Your dog was killing me..lol. Anyway I so agree with you when your child is ready you will know. I have four sons and I can say that my oldest son started when he was ready at 2 and I would just send him to the potty with my husband to watch him and learn. Well as each son came along I would send them to go potty together and that is how the all learned at 2. I have pictures of my two oldest standing at the potty together and

  • Jen, first off your dog cracked me up....lol.

  • Thanks ill try it I'm desperate right now she's 3 she should be going on the potty lol

  • my daughter woke me up one morning when she was 2.5 and said that she needed to pee. i took her, she went, end of story - 6 months, no stressing, no accidents. i'm a firm believer in "they'll do it when they're ready", too. and i TOTALLY let my son pee wherever [within reason/decency haha].

  • To all the moms out there. I am not a mom myself, but I am taking a psychology class and we've talked about potty training and trying to teach young children things. From what I have learned you can not potty train a child until it is ready and all children are different. If your child isn't having it just wait because chances are its just going to take a lot longer and be a lot harder rather then just waiting. (:

  • It is a pain!! My son is 23 months old and when we go out and play in the snow... EVERY 30 MIN he is telling me he has to go pee! Jacket off, Boots off, snow pants, pants off, underwear down... But at the same time.. Poo is so much easier in the toilet.

  • I have been trying since she was 1 and a half. I had her in daycare and we were working together to potty train she will go per on the potty if u put her there but she won't come to you and say she has to go potty. She also refuses to poop on the potty. I've tried games stickers lollipops movies etc. She is just not having it lol.

  • I would suggest to other moms too not wait forever bc them they just get lazy and want nothing to do with it. when there ready do it:)!!!!! and Incentives seem to work too like movies, popcorn, go to the park !!!

  • Lol I love that you said u are the mom who is not above letting your son pee in the parking lot. Love your videos Jen. My daughter just turned 3 and I'm having such a hard time potty training her. She is so stubborn and refuses to let anyone know when she has to go potty and I'm so tired of buying pullups lol. They are so expensive. Also when I have another Child you have convinced me to cloth diaper :)

  • @angelsmommy111508 pullups are a huge waste, everone says to never buy pullups, just do underwear an let them pee through, pulls up are to much like diapers if confuses them, just a tip if you wanted to try, let her pee on herself in underwear an she'll eventually get sick of it

  • My cousin says that's one great thing about having a boy.. They can pee almost anywhere LOL

  • @NWGandee It's so true!

  • Thank you for this video!

  • @3zgirls Sorry I couldn't help a ton /-;
