  • Hey rick,

is the artillery hold as important on pump, pcp, and Nitro Pistons, as it is on springs?

  • @55Outdoortrail

Not as much as pcp or pump, but certainly a factor with NP and spring guns. Remember an NP is still a spring gun.. a spring is a mechanical device that stores energy.. so the gas ram is a gas "spring." You still get the same recoil affect, minus the torque of a metal spring, so the np gun will still be somewhat hold sensitive.

    cheers

  • Hey rick,

What would the range of this gun be for taking down crows and varmits? How would it compare to the tech force contender 89 with Nitro Piston?

  • @55Outdoortrail

You need to be pretty close for anything over a small rabbit or squirrel. Crows are pretty tough birds something with a bit more oomph is a better option.

    Cheers

  • i hate pumping those guns up i used to have a crossmen with the plastic handle it was good but eventualy it broke.

  • Nice review, I have the Benjamin 392, and I love these guns.

  • Classic, classic airgun. A friend of mine's older brother had one of these when I was a kid back in the 70's. I was so envious, still want one to this day.

  • I remember some asshole shooting at me with one of these. Lucky for me he sucked at shooting , because I was unarmed.

  • Just picked up a 392 the other day. How long can leave 8 pumps in it. Will a day do any damage? Anyways i love this little gun and recommend it to anyone who wants a accurate gun. i tried a nitro piston gun and took it back and got this. Thanks rick..

  • @deearebeats

I'm not sure how long you can leave it pumped full at 8 pumps.. Maybe someone can fill us in?

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb Rick, I have a lot of air guns. I was wondering which air gun in the world is the most reliable and will shoot no matter what it goes through, like what is the AK-47 of airguns?

  • @harriet807

With my limited experience.. I'd go with the RWS 34 in .22 cal.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb Hey Rick I don't mean to annoy you with acceseries talk but where do you think I should mount sling swivels on my Blue Streak for my hunting trips?

  • @mountainman9833

That's a good question.. I'm not sure where would be best.. Maybe someone here has done it already and can help!

    Rick

  • @deearebeats Don't leave it with 8 pumps for more than a few hours. The seals will start to fail. However, make sure you leave 1 pump in it when you put it away.

  • In my opinion, the price is too steep. You could get a Benjamin 397 & 392 for the same price as this package. Same internals, same style.

  • I've got a Sheridan Blue Streak .20 from 1969. Shoots well, and is beautiful.

  • Another great vid thanks Rick :)

  • I have a Sheridan silver streak. It has a "Charlie da Tuna super sear" installed. It's an aftermarket trigger modification, it lowers the trigger pull to about 3 pounds.

  • I'm glad to see Crosman is still producing some classic air guns.

  • definitely worth the wait for the vid Rick. Had mine for over 10 years now, love it as a hunting rifle, but not so much for punching paper, as finding .20 cal pellets here in canada is somewhat of a challenge. The pellet slection is limited as well, I'd love to find jsb predators in .20, knowing what they are capable of in my benjamin .22 np trail. Still remains of of my all time favs.

    cheers.

  • @theplaid1

Thanks for the kind words.. this gun will give you a work out for sure too. I'd like to rework the trigger a bit to lighten it up. If I could get the pull weight down to say 2 pounds vs 6, it would help for bench shooting. Now I just need to find someone to pump it up for me between shots!

    Cheers

    Rick

  • I have got a Sheridan Silver Streak that I purchased in 1991. It is the bomb. At close ranges (less than 40 feet) it can be a groundhog's worst nightmare also. You have to aim for the inside of the ear or the brain area. And be prepared to fire another shot (possibly) in the same area or the neck area (to sever the spine) in order to finish it off. I know from experience, I had one that just would not leave my yard no matter what I tried. They can be stubborn SOBs.

  • Have you ever done a review of the Benjamin Rogue .357? It's the gun that shoots actual .357 caliber bullets.

  • @PalmTrall

I'd really like to.. Crosman would have to send me one to review.

    Rick

  • Rick great video man, I sure wish I had mine that I had as a kids. I agree with you on the pumping it does wear on you a bit.

  • Another great review . Thanks for sharing

  • i always wanted one of these when i was young! still do! i havnt seen them in uk for 20 odd years. would get in a heartbeet if i saw one for sale tomorrow....but ive never shot one...il bet the trigger could be worked on though! have you ever reviewed the benjimin eb22 c02 pistol sir? i like it alot and would like your thoughts. thanks rick...nick from uk.

  • @hobo31009

I have not shot one yet.. but finally handled one at the shot show last week.. nice gun for sure.

    Rick
