Their called sprites, in Pivot 3 u can add normal sticks, and sprites, sprites are just random pictures (JPEG or GIF pictures) which can be inserted...

In this video at the beginning, the guy put heaps of sprites in from a game im assuming..probably a street fighter game..I hope i answered ur question.. :)
