  • Most of the trails I have ridden require the equestrian to stay on the trail. Going around trees and doing figure eights are not possible when staying on the trail.

  • @nothinfancyful I'm not affiliated with Clinton but I use his methods and own an Arab that was dangerously spooky before I used his methods. I've been in this kind of situation before...you can still go forward, back, side pass, serpentine down the trail. Just make him think and redirect his energy.

  • It is so clear and simple, I love it.

  • and the lightbulb goes on...It took me a minute to figure out what "sara's " problem was..cause I had the same..and i used to think ..ok she is already hot and nervous..moving her feet is just freaking her out more..but the key was, one rein stop first to get control, then put her to work forwards backwards left and right..Clinton, you rock. just wish i could have you con speed dial :) thank you!

  • Clinton actually makes the rider use the thinking part of their brain. :)

Have seen him 3 times. Totally worth it!!!

  • a basket case riding him, lol

  • My daughters pony has bolted on her 2 in the 2 days that we have owned him, the first time at home and second time at pony club, my daughter has tried to pull him in a tight circle but to no aveil was he planning on stopping in a hurry! Scared the crap out of her as you can imagine. She only is only 11 years and a patite lil thing. People that owned the pony told us his not a "Morning Pony" what a load of rubbish! So we are showing him who's in charge in this family certaintly not the pony!

  • You've desensitized me and I'm only 50 seconds in. Z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z

  • Thank you, I have been a follower of yours for a while, and use your techniques with my horse, and my horse is just like the one you described! But I am just like the rider! I always figured a trail ride was the reward for a good lesson in the arena. But she got so bad I haven't ridden out of the arena at all this year because of her spooking! Thank you so much, and I wish I had stumbled upon this earlier!

  • thank you so much Clinton, it feels like you were talking about me and my girl, can't wait to get back outside again!

  • Jeeze, DOES THAT MAKE SENSE!!! Thank you SO MUCH! Now I need to figure out how to load him in a trailer. :(

  • @joycesgrooming Check out his training videos! This Clinton Anderson is GOOD. IF NOT THE BEST! I had the same issue of my hours not trailering. NOT KIDDEN! In about an hours work after his training video on this sub.

I had my hours loading and unloading licke he was doing it for years!

  • I have used your method out on the trail- just like you describe and I am convinced that my horse would be just like Sara's if I didn't! My horse is very sensitive and flips over to the reactive side of the brain way too easy. If I did not have access to the Clinton Anderson Method I'm convinced that I would no longer own my own horse. Thanks Clinton!

  • so many people who has horses i know have so many problems with thier horses and rather take the problem away rather then train their horses. i think its quite amusing. they just end up making thier horses worse.

  • This video was great!

  • This is such great advice! I definitely plan on using this next time any horse I ride spooks or gives me trouble.

  • Finally! Thank you so much, it makes perfect sense, and my horse was the same way, wonderful in the arena, snorty and spooky outside. Now I know what to do....

  • this is awesome!
