Trying to beat vamp on hardest difficulty. It's fuckin annoying. I was so proud after I beat Crying Wolf without getting spotted once, it slipped my mind that another boss was up in like 5 minutes. :P

I find that running around and diving out of the way when Vamp gets close seems to work well. I use the M60 (loads of ammo and continuous stream of hits) takes him out pretty quickly. Have a few rations handy if Snake's life gets low and remember to select Syringe just before Vamp falls down and deselect weapons for CQC. After that, it's asimple case of running behind him, holding R2 and hitting triangle. Works every time.

I quit I have been trying for 3 days to beat this vamp thing and I cant! I can only take so much. this sucks its like reading a book half way through and not finishing it. @dillinger9999 ya i got it after a few trys, the key thing to remember is take out the syringe ONLY uneqqiup all weapons. when he's down get behind him right when he gets up hit R1 then hammer triangle, hope that helps dude.

I think it would be easier, for inexperienced players, to get away from Vamp as soon as he is taken down. He will stand up and take his time to regenerate, leaving himsels open , that way he can be easily approached and grabbed.

You have to >>HOLD<< R1 button, not only press!

after you "kill him" you go behind him and as he get up you HOLD the R1...

Then you use the TRIANGLE one!

I think game developers shouldn't be so rigid at times like these. You spend so long taking down a difficult boss, how about a bit of leeway? But I think Kojima likes to make us suffer. Who can forget the torture sequences from MGS1/MGS2?

@motabikeboy we've all been there one time or another. When I first played this, it was the same for me. I don't know if it's a glitch or what, but eventually, it will work. It's all in the timing and technique. The method I've shown works. You'll just have to keep at it and try to grab him as soon as he falls. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to do it every time afterwards.

p.s. the more frustrated you get, the more you will mess up. So take a long break and then try again.

you need to shoot him until he falls down, get behind his body while it's down then when he gets up, use the knife you equipped in the beginning of the game to stun him and use the syringe to suck out his nano-machines and then he'll become mortal and then there's a cutscene
