  • LAUNCH AVOIDANCE MANEUVER. ya right captain picard

  • 0:11 roger captain picard

  • "It's Not Science Fiction," from the nation that brought us "Ketchup: It's A Vegetable!"

  • the air force is cool but... i feel like we are running out of money. i mean we have yet to receive holographic tables

  • Awww shucks I thought Zordon was gonna show up in the hologram

  • all she did is list lazily to the left those are some maneuvers

  • The air force more like the chair force.

  • china recently tested thier anti satellite missle

  • This is stupid

  • um yea it is science fiction we dont have holograms like that

  • It's not science fiction, it's total horse crap.

  • So this is was the AF is like...

  • yeah that's spacecom (minus the holograms and dramatic music). If you're into working with satellites etc, SATCOM (2E1x1) or known as (RF Transmissions 3D1x3 now). It's still a high demand job, gotta have at least a 70 on the ASVAB to be considered for it. Though, in truth you'll be working outside alot setting up the antennas. The job is interesting and once you finish setting everything up it's laid back. I know the army has a similar MOS but not sure if you get an AS degree.

  • What is missing is the fact that most of the personal would be on LSD type drugs to stop the crew from telling the public on what is really going on up there.

  • advoiding debris how exciting, wacth out it's a metre rock heading our way move left now!

  • Do they really have that technology?

  • Yeah....they don't have holograms like that. Otherwise though, it's accurate

  • Gorge Lucas would of been proud, i was waiting for the Republic Assault Ship to show up, maybe next commercial. : )

  • this video is a little exaggerated but its not too far off from the real thing in the air force, i know because i have a job thats very similar to it, but the chances of you getting this job are very slim. your best chance to get this job is take rf transmissions at keesler (338th) 3d133 afsc and get stationed at a space com. base ex. buckley afb in CO

  • @Spyderkingman yeah...i just pick up boxes...and put them on planes. :)

  • I guess all these spy satellites are the reason why we had all those fake moon missions.

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!?!?!!?

  • i am a robot nerd and i know we dont have hologram tech. yet. the best tech. to that is probably the "sixth sense" device. signals going back and fourth from space and earth take more than a couple seconds! fake!

  • No stargate teaser?! I'd have signed up if Col. Sam Carter had told me to.

  • This is hilarious

    Whatta joke

  • Driversx241 is partially right, but once you make Senior Airman it gets a lot better. Hang in there young Airmen because the time goes fast and it's an extra retirement bonus. I've been in almost 22 yrs total military time (Army and Air Force) with about 3 yrs to go. I am currently serving at Vandenberg and have been able to travel to 42 states and 10 countries because of this amazing career.

  • hey there's debris hurling at our satellite. maybe we should move it.

  • It's not science fiction, it's scientology

  • No they don't have holograms . I work at schriever afb where they do this. These USAF ads crack me up at how lame my job really is after seeing that

  • @bradford880809 sorry not to make fun of the USAF but thats all fake, i would know im a robot nerd!

  • This comercial changed my life...

  • yeaa this is something ill do.

  • @xHzDxKING lol good luck.. you need some serious brains

  • 0:18 Does that guy look like Tim Tebow at all?

  • Where did the debris come from because thats the biggest space debris ive ever seen.

  • Where did the debris come from because thats the biggest space debris ive ever seen.

  • Now nothing happens for a another year and a half.

  • Ooh rah!

  • Tim Tebow is in the Airforce?

  • Air Force uses Dell!!!!!!!

  • Wow, their leader is a genius. Something's flying at their satellite, his peeps are all like "what should we do?!1" and he's all like "Launch avoidance manoeuvre."

  • LAUNCH ADVIODANCE MANEUVER. 20 KILOMERTERS INCLOSING. FIRE THE EMERGENCY BOOSTER ENGINES!

  • Serving in the USAF is like this. Only instead of satellites, you control a mop, and instead of avoidance maneuvers, you clean floors.

  • @driverx241 ahhh launch avoidance maneuvers theres tomato sauce headed right at you.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • @driverx241 So you guys pretty much do exactly the same thing as the Army. Good to know.

  • @driverx241 Details are an adventure.

    An adventure in zoning out.

  • @driverx241 Aren't they Space Pilots?

  • i guess if you join as an uneducated highschool drop out

  • at :10 do they really have holograms like that its looks like mw2 awesome

  • @944911928 they have to have fast advanced technology...

  • Yepp, everyday business for the Air Force.

    And afterwards they fight Klingons.

  • @JayNaylor1 lol

  • ...satellites don't work like that.

  • i work in the vandergerg airforce base and know like 4 ppl in this commercial C:

  • @georgy223

who is the chick who at :21 who says "collision averted, sir"?

i swear to god i've seen her before. i think it was fairly recently too...either kadena or robins....do you know her?

  • @gliza i have talk to her several times. idk where she might be stationed at right now but we live in vandergerg california its between lompoc and santa maria CA

  • OH MAN, I CAN SAY LAUNCH AVOIDANCE MANEUVER..If I join...hooplah!!!

  • FIRE THE EMERGENCY BOOSTER ENGINES!

  • LAUNCH AVOIDANCE MANEUVER

  • this ad makes it look soo cool to b in the air force!!!

  • I'm an AFROTC Cadet and I love the USAF to death - but this commercial certainly over-glorifies that position. All that the people there do is make a few calculations, activate a thruster, and that's it. It's not anything that dramatic or exciting. And @natedoggx11 - Go study some science before you make comments like that.

  • I guess that nonsense looks more exciting than some guy in an office doing covariance analysis!

  • @natedoggx11 Little known fact: there's a forcefield around the satellite filled with oxygen so they can use rockets.

  • did the air force rob star fleet?... or the death star?

WHERE ARE THEY GETTING THIS KIND OF TECHNOLOGY, AND WHY AREN'T THEY SHARING IT WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD!?

  • The only thing AF Space Command does is protect people from having a cool job.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Yeah right, "What we do every day" in like 400 years!

  • I like how the debris actually went through the satellite.

  • I love Avatar.

  • how does the saTiite move out of the way it cant use rockets because there isnt oxygen in space for the rocket to burn

  • It's compressed gas used in the satellite's reaction control system which pushes the satellite out of the debris trajectory.

  • @natedoggx11

Even on the ground, there isn't enough oxygen to burn it as hot as they need it to be. So space rockets have an oxygen supply with them, and mix it with the fuel shortly before they light it.

  • @natedoggx11 Did you ever hear of "oxidizer"? All rockets carry it onboard, together with "fuel". These are known as "propellants".

  • That was great :) The guy at 0:17 is an old 2 SOPS buddy :)

  • She called off a distance of 20 km; does Space Command actually use the Metric System now? All the time I was in it was next to impossible to wean people off these primitive miles, statute or nautical; except for NBC Cell Ops using 1:50,000 tactical maps in metric grids.

  • Time to fall in love with imperial empire costume wearing AF heroines.

  • That soooooooooo Rocks!!! I'm a proud JSPOC mama!!!

  • @PriestessPat not the brightest bulb are you

  • Yeah, right. If this isn't science fiction then I want my effing electric car. This commercial is a laugh. Keep recruiting the best and brightest with your ignorant commercials. cloverspace

  • This was tape at the Joint Space Operations Center (JSPOC)at Vandenberg AFB,CA

    Go 9th SOPS.......... :)

  • ISRD is better.

  • I saw a new AF commercial on tv the other day about PJs but i can't find it anywhere, anyone know how to find it?

  • @metalguitar777 The "PJ" commercial you are refering to is CSAR

  • Does anyone know what the name of the satellite is? 0:22

  • It is an entirely fictional satellite. Unless they've been building some massive space facility in secret and decided to reveal it during a campy commercial. :/

  • Fake. Its name is fake.

  • It's a fake satellite. USAF currently uses Milstar (and soon, Wideband Global Satcom) for military comm operations. Neither look anything like this.

  • What is the name on that satellite?

  • One thing recruiters need to do (or do better because I've never seen it), is make sure every recruit knows about every job the AF offers. This is one of many very interesting jobs in the AF, & I ended up as a crew chief being pissed off I didn't go against what my recruiter told me was available (I waited 5 months to go to basic too). It was so frustrating learning about aircrew jobs while in Tech School. I spent most of my time volunteering for other things & got out. Still the love AF though!

  • That my hubby.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i lol'd
