I think all the covers of this song miss something that Venom had. The original has a swagger to it, like "yeah, Satan's a badass, and he's my boy, so what." Also, they had a sense of humor that a lot of the black metal bands just didn't get.

This is a pretty cool cover though... awesome band.

@hellfencer This may just be my bias as someone who prefers Archgoat to Iron Maiden, but I think Carpathian Forest's cover does better justice to the song than Venom's original. Black metal vocals, when done right, can sound evil in a way that NWOBHM vocals never achieve.

To be honest if you were going to start a band in a place that isn't know for much metal, using Satan in your lyrics will get you more attention than anything else.

But if you really think about it. It never was about Satan in the first place. It was most about Paganism until the shite that happened in 1994 and the Norway media's false reports.

CF version is great and it's a bit more "rock" oriented, Venom's drums have a more "Voodoo" touch which is also great and I'd say that both versions rock, Krisiun's version is very different, but some riffs do great, Six Feet Under is not bad, but after all it's average.
