I am a Udel sophomore, and yes I attended this mob. I AM against the war in Iraq, and in no way do I believe America is a flawless country that has the right to impose it's own moral values and democracy onto others. I am against the crimes committed against civilians in wars. But I will always remember 9/11/01. And no matter what you say, I do not regret coming together with my fellow Udel students and celebrating the death of the Osama.
two questions. have you forgotten the injustices of thousand of innocent lives lost in the past decade of iraqis, afghans, pakistanis, our own american brothers and sisters, and the bombing of the children of libya's leader done in our name? would you celebrate that?
@sonnenlicht87 So an attack on US soil towards innocent civilians and several government buildings on the same day does not serve as justification to go to war with a terrorist organization and those who fund it? Then please tell me, what does serve as justification to go to war?
@Skribduex The attacks were set up by our own government. Do you not remember the supposed WMDs? Wasn't that the reason? Do you not remember when the media announced that the government wasn't even sure it was Al Qaeda? 1 million innocent Iraqis and countless deaths of our own men have been lost. And don't distract from the facts. Only uninformed people would partake in such a disgraceful manner.
@sonnenlicht87 The WMDs were based off of viable information we received at the time, encouraged by numerous insider reports from Iraq that confirmed their existence. Furthermore, Saddam, in an attempt to feign strength, repeatedly refused to allow UN inspectors into his country. He had nothing to hide, but did not want to appear weak and did not want the world to know the truth about his lack of weapons. He brought the war and destruction upon himself.
@chodemaster2009 looks like you just happy with the patriot act too. and obama just extended it. the president can deem you a terrorist. he has the power to shoot you first then ask questions later. thats right up your alley. don't appear to be weak though youll only bring destruction upon yourself.
@sonnenlicht87 the patriot act doesnt matter to me, I have nothing at all to hide. Go ahead, eves drop all you want, it will only be a waste of time. The second half of your paragraph makes no sense so I won't even address it
@sonnenlicht87 I have. And historically we have gone to war for land, gold, religion, help our allies, and stop the spread of communism which where all considered okay during their time. So far this one seems to be one of the best reasons no matter what time you are in and is the most judged.
@MrJstankie really, is this what American colleges have produced? have you questioned the official story? this is a scam perpetrated on the american people and the world. you think the wars are going to end? don't look for it. you think the TSA will stop searching your undies for a bomb? don't look for it.
To all the Americans who criticize this country and these kids like it's their job - ask yourself why you or your family continue to and will always live in the US. You don't realize how much you love this country. Wake up from your fantasy philosophical far-left nonsense world, stop whining, and do something with your privileged position as a US citizen - a position that any rational person living in the real world would love to have. We may not be a perfect country, but I love life in the US
@bea1080 illegal searches, torture prisons, taxes, illegal wars is something for you to be proud of as an american without question? i have every right to criticize and question the government. read the constitution sometime!
@sonnenlicht87 Dear lord, you are a complete and total idiot. Taxes? Yeah, kinda necessary...after all, they ARE what keep the federal government running. And aside from that, America has one of the lowest tax rates in all of the West. Furthermore, waterboarding isn't torturing. No physical or psychological harm=not torture. Illegal searches? More like people not knowing their rights. For instance, if a cop asks to search your car, you can say no. A majority of people don't know this.
@chodemaster2009 name calling is something 5th graders do. the taxes every american pays does not keep the government running. it goes in their pockets and the bankers. ronald reagan said it himself. waterboarding is torture. i'm not going to let some boogey man the us gov. uses to make me believelegal. i don't bow down to the government and agree with it when it says so. i think and criticize it. illegal searches do happen and its been happening.. and i do know my rights, have you read lately
@chodemaster2009 furthermore, there is such a thing as a BILL OF RIGHTS and a CONSTITUTION if since the majority DO NOT KNOW THIS everyone has a right to due process of law and not to be treated cruelly or unfair. its all in there! illegal searches is now legal and its now illegal to defend yourself. don't worry, the government never lies to you. it cares so much about your well being.
@chodemaster2009 and i clearly see how you are avoiding my statements on the bombing of innocent people. no matter how much you ignore it, it will still be there. it's the bloody truth. oh but its okay, you have t.v. shows, donald trump, and fart jokes to keep you happy.
@sonnenlicht87 I didn't intentionally ignore them, I just ran out of room. The bombing of innocent civilians is a sad collateral of war that is near impossible to avoid, especially when our enemies use their own people as human shields. War is kill or be killed. Shoot first and ask questions later. You don't have the balls or strength to join the military so you would never know, and if you did, I assume you wouldn't shoot at all, because that other guy may just be "misunderstood"
@chodemaster2009 don't mock my intelligence. i expect this type of ignorance coming from someone who believes the government never lies to them. insults are still so grade school. are u listening to urself when u spew "bombing innocent civilians is a sad collateral of war" really? shoot first ask questions later? u could be trolling but i could be wrong. whether i have balls or not is irrelevant. u are merely trying to distract from the fact that the u.s. is still killing people.
@sonnenlicht87 I never said they weren't killing people. As a general or military strategist, try to eliminate and enemy presence that literally uses their own people as human shields, without any civilian casualties. Its just not possible. Every war won successfully by the United States involved civilian deaths. It is the only way an enemy can truly be defeated (look at World War II for a prime example), now more than ever.
@bea1080 i criticize my government because its my right to do. i will never leave this land it is my home as it is urs. there is no far left, there is no far right. only patriots who dissent. our founding fathers encouraged it. i think u're joking/trolling on the "privileged" part but i could be wrong. i'm not privileged to live and to be free. its a right. have u been to any other country? stop deluding urself.. america has been in a downward spiral and this video proves its only getting worse
@paddy123ization Haha, you're a cool, funny man, I sincerely enjoyed your comments.
I was referring to such things as the inability of homosexual couples to obtain a full marriage, the deportation of the children of immigrants who know no other country than USA as their home, and the squelching of the voice of the individual (basic 1st amendment), as even now I am berated for contradicting the norm presented by the media. Wikipedia not necessary my friend.
i went to UD. this is another excuse to party and have fun. it's against Christianity to celebrate death. anyway, 9/11 was an inside job and Osama bin Laden died in 2001. I learned these facts and more while I was a student at UD, I hope everyone else can wake up too.
I was proud to be there last night singing. The Newark Police arrested nobody and the Delaware News Journal (Delaware's largest paper) said no property damage has been reported.
Many of the people in this crowd grew up in the NY/NJ/CT area, myself included. Many of them and I knew people who died that day. We had a right to celebrate.
The world celebrated Hitler's death, why is this any different?
@chodemaster2009 terrible and evil are subjective terms, this man did what was right in his mind, in his heart, and has been condemned and killed for it, by the dictionary, this makes him a martyr.
America being a great nation is also subjective, since its a very barbaric nation itself. People are denied and stripped of their basic liberties everyday.
Also, to say that because one disagrees with the vast majority they should leave is appalling. I was born in the USA, I can speak my mind.
@GenitalBirdflu You were born in the USA and as such given the right to criticize it. Are you unaware that this is illegal in most other nations? What basic liberties are stripped of on a day to day basis? So you are saying that because Osama did what he BELIEVED was right, he is not evil? Also, what is so barbaric about this nation? Is it our relatively low taxes, our excellent energy grid, our ever increasing technological and medical capabilities, or our thorough criminal justice system?
Have you all gone stark raving mad? Do you even realize that you're cheering for globalization, imperialism, and your very own dehumanization? A man died, and all you want to do is celebrate, cheer for the death and destruction that will continue to ensue, and masturbate to your own cruelty. Uncivilized countries are not barbaric. You are the barbarians that savagely force from these people either their culture or their lives. You should be ashamed of this blatant display of fascism.
@GenitalBirdflu Its a celebration of the justice that has been brought upon him. For 9 years this man has been the very face of evil. Why not celebrate the death of a terrible, evil figurehead? Uncivilized countries are very much barbaric-look at the nations in the middle east. Stonings, public executions, and unjust laws are abound. America remains the greatest nation on the face of the earth. Deal with it.
@SweetLkeCandy2MySoul I'm assuming genitalbirdflu, or Preston as i believe his name is, is just a misguided liberal nut job. He feels the need to criticize this great nation at every chance he gets, but never actually has the testicular fortitude to do us all a favor and leave this place.
This is just a waste of me and everyone's time...to loot outside and see the sheer stupidity of my school. Only about 40% percent of people in UD are conscious of contemporary issues and now everyone wanna be a patriot. This just gave the people at my school an excuse to be drunk and loud #FACTS
@YoungP91 Where was the looting? And whats wrong with some patriotism? At a time like this, the nation needed a catalyst to unite us once more. Deal with it or get the fuck out.
