  • Where was this

  • Look. Sen. McCain took issue with the responses of Marines. Their answers "I don't know any homosexuals" "I don't work with any here" etc. He stuck with his little point that this somehow was a statement by the Marines who responded that they did not want DADT.

I am not in the military but, when I heard the responses? I stood up and cheered! I am so proud of the Marines. They answered exactly in accordance with DADT! Don't know any.

    Loyalty to the Corp first.

    I love you Marines!

  • @NicestOfTheDamned I support repeal of DADT, and I also appreciate the cogent statement you posted. God Bless our Marines as they continue to fight and die for us in Afghanistan and Iraq. God Bless their families in what must be immensely stressful and trying times for them. If you know any family members of soldiers stationed overseas this Holiday, please let them know your appreciation, even if it's a 15 second conversation. Let's hope that they can be together for future Holidays very soon.

  • Thank you Rep. Lewis for your words and the passion in your beliefs.

The Sec. of the DOD, and the esteemed Military's words, and statements that DADT not become an issue in the courts with the reasons being detrimental to the brave men and women who serve are enough for me.

Gen. Amos' statements are not anti repeal. He speaks of front lines. In countries, whose radical Islamic views support murder of homosexuals. Any hint that DADT includes front lines? We could be slaughtered.

  • "vote yes, because discrimination is wrong"

Who better to know this then an old black guy that grew up in the South that suffered racially violent attacks. Go Rep. Lewis!!!!!

  • bullshit wedge issue. no person in their right mind would want to be shot at if they had other choices.

"serve your country"? that is a funny phrase. only servants serve.

  • Reppin GA-5 wut wut

  • is he a drunk?

  • that was the most gangsta shit ive seen

  • @hossboss96 yep

  • YouTube distracted from the importance of this video with the implementation of this horrible comment styling.

  • vote SHITCHYES!

  • This man is a hero. Enough said.

  • I met John Lewis. Such an amazing man! This is why i still love the man.

  • Land of the free.............

  • The bill passed

  • John Lewis Kicks ASS !!!!

  • Rock on John Lewis.

  • Uncle Ruckers is right!

  • Pretty sad that we're even having a discussion on whether gays are allowed to serve openly in the military, I guess when you have religious insanity run a muck this is the result. I'm writing this from Europe, its fucking embarrassing how far behind we are in almost every aspect of society. We are a great country, I wish we would acknowledge our greatness every once in a while. I think the first step is to admit that anyone who practices religion is fundamentally insane and needs help.

  • i hear blacks use the f* word for "gay" liberally and i read gays use the n* word just as liberally. why is that? minority groups seem harsher and more bigoted towards each other. is the real villain here the oft maligned non-minority group member and minority groups are simply taking it out on each other? not judging just observing and inquisitively asking

  • @inmyforties , I'm gay, and I've never heard white gay people use the n-word, except to talk about how other people are using the n-word. I'm sure it happens, but I've never heard it, so it isn't used "liberally". You can here it more in just one episode of The Boondocks than I've heard in my entire life, otherwise.

  • Wow, what a sellout and a traitor to his race and religion!

  • @BigBoseMan what the fuck are you talking about?

  • @redriverhautbois As a black man, he should know that the majority of his people are Christians and against gay people. He's trying to come off as this Southern Baptist preacher with his voice, while advocating for the biggest sinners of all.

  • @BigBoseMan Not all Christians are pro-discrimination.

  • @BigBoseMan

Traitor to his race and religion because he's for equality?

  • @GetTheHook These days right or wrong or good or bad is nothing to people. There loyalties are to there party. It is and always has been the begining of the end for the empire.

  • @GetTheHook You can't compare sexuality to the battle for equality of races. You can't choose what race you are.

  • @BigBoseMan

To me equality is equality. Women and blacks were second class citizens not too long ago and they weren't allowed to serve in the military either. I don't see why gay people shouldn't be liberated as well.

I just feel people should be able to serve their country and not have to lie about who they are. They are human beings too.

  • @BigBoseMan

I feel that people can't chose their sexuality either. I mean, think about it. You didn't choose to be straight. You just are who you are.

I don't think anyone would ever choose to be gay if it was a choice. Why would they choose to be second class citizens and be so discriminated and hated if it was just a matter of choice?

  • @BigBoseMan , and here I think you've just insulted a race and a religion.

  • AAAA++++ !

Gay♥ and greetzz from Steven of Holebis ♥♂♂,♀♀♥

  • One of the greatest living Americans

  • Finally someone w/ some guts. I don't care what his accent is like. He is right.

  • @coffeescup His accent is awesome. VOTE YEEAAAS!

  • LOL! this guy spoke at my college. he has the funniest preacher voice. i liked him, but thank goodness they have time at the House because he wouldn't shut up at school.

  • @deveousdevil "This guy?" I would encourage you to get a little more education at that college and realize that heard from one of the most courageous Americans in your classroom.

  • @ns0710

i know plenty about this man and his role in the civil rights movement, i was poking some innocent fun at him in good faith. perhaps a little crude i admit.

  • That's how a pimp takes the floor.

  • @benhamlol

Yes, he's a pimp. Wonderful. How apropos to liken an advocate of tolerance to a criminal who enslaves and abuses vulnerable woman.

  • How about we don't get rid of DADT. We just redefine it. Everyone can serve their country regardless of their sexual orientation, and if you as a soldier are too bigoted, insecure, or religiously intolerant to get over it, then keep it to yourself. We won't ask why you are such a homophobe, and you won't have to tell us.

  • @ultrapirtle

that's not fair. let the homophobes suffer as the gays did.

  • Yes, yes, yes, yes!...ohhhh yes, ummm, yes! vote yes, cause i came...madame speaker.

  • All the REAL problems in the world today and in America...all the murdering, all the violence, all the coersion, all the fraud...and we are worried about someones sexual partner gender preference and them being able to be open about it...

...And you wonder why ignorant fucks as Obama and Bush continuously get elected into office and day by day pass laws to steal our property, steal our morality and invade our privacy...

    America...home of the dumb.

  • @helltrackrider Last I checked, the government tackles multiple issues on a daily basis. The fact that there are worse concerns does not mean this is of no concern.

  • @p00lman

Government doesnt "tackle" anything...if the economy and our foreign policy were a football game, the Government would be losing by 43 touchdowns - in the first quarter.

Government has failed EVERYWHERE it has tried to push its weight around.

The problem isnt DADT - the problem is "What the fuck is Government involving itself in this for anyways?"...people need to STOP turning to government for approval and praise - and need to vote to remove government from their daily lives.

  • @helltrackrider Go move to an island then.

  • @p00lman

Typical response..."Move if you dont like it"

Do you enjoy supporting murdering and theft on a daily basis?...Have you no morals?

  • @helltrackrider Name one country that doesn't have a government.

  • @p00lman

There isnt one...i was simply answering your question regarding a "perfect tax system"...

the closest thing to this, with a government involved, is a voluntary system...which is essentially what the founders had constituted...but, you see how that turned out...government is a cancer, it grows until it destroys its hosts...we are the hosts.

  • @helltrackrider I never said anything about a "perfect tax system."

    Stop being so paranoid.

  • @p00lman

Anyways, do you appluad the theft and murdering by our government? or do you oppose it?

  • @helltrackrider You're talking in absolutes, which is ridiculous. The government isn't all good or all bad.

  • @p00lman

Absolutes?...Name ONE good todays government provides without reaching this service through immoral means.

  • @helltrackrider Roads and bridges.

  • @p00lman

Income taxation pays for those....i.e. slavery...i.e. theft...both are immoral.

    Bad Government.

  • @helltrackrider Name one country without taxes.

  • @p00lman

There was once a Country that had voluntary taxes, United States of America...but...then, the Progressive movement took heed and hooray for the communist income tax system!!!

All Countries have taxes...the question is are the leveed via the barrel of a gun or via voluntary consent.

Via the barrel of a gun = theft, this is over 95% of Americas tax revenue today.

Via voluntary consent of the People = moral, approximately 4% or so of America tax revenue today.

  • @helltrackrider Sorry, but the US never had a "voluntary tax system." The entire point of the Revolution was for taxation with representative.

  • @p00lman

Yep...you definetely need a history lesson in reality.

The Colonies had charters; agreements with the King of England...not Parliament...they were not under the jurisdiction of Parliament.

Parliament tried leveeing taxes on the Colonies, to which the Colonies refuted based on the grounds that Parliament did not REPRESENT them...the King did nothing, and thus...Revolution.

The Colonies represented themselves; they did not want representation in Parliament.

  • @helltrackrider 1. That doesn't contradict what I said.

    2. That doesn't have anything to do with this "voluntary taxes" bullshit.

  • @p00lman

    1) you claim that the Revolution was over Representation...it was not, it was over taxation; they did not want Representation - as they did not want to be adjudicated by the Parliament.

    2) The Articles of Confederation and the Pre-Civil War America were voluntary as taxation was based on tariffs...imports...and excises...sales tax. All sales taxes were NOT leveed on necessital items - i.e. Food, Shelter, Water, Farming equipment, etc...

  • @helltrackrider I really hope you find a time machine, then, so you can discover this fairy tale world of no taxes, and so you'll stay off the internet.

  • @p00lman

    You still dont get it...

    Voluntary -v- Involuntary...

  • @helltrackrider Yes yes, I know, you hate paying taxes.

    Too fucking bad.

  • @p00lman

I dont mind voluntary taxes...on gas, tobacco, alcohol, luxury items such as cars, boats, planes...etc...

But, having a gun pointed to my head and being forced to GIVE almost half my labor to fund measures of which i do not support?...this is dont like.

Tell me, if your neighbor cam to your house with a sweet badge and gun and demanded that you give him 30% or so of your earnings for that year...would you gladly fork it over and hi-five him before he leaves?...dont think so.

  • @helltrackrider Every country imposes taxes. That's how they survive.

If you don't like how this government is spending your tax dollars, 1. Vote for different officials, or 2. Go somewhere else.

Whining about putting an end to government is stupid and infantile.

  • @p00lman

    There you go again!!...

"Go somewhere else"...seriously, try something different.

But, would you let your neighbor steal from you? or would you call the police whenever he does and want to press charges and have him arrested?

  • @helltrackrider You try something different.

Your analogy is shit. Taxation is an agreement between you and your country for your enduring citizenship, regardless of the country.

  • @p00lman

    My analogy is precise.

Anything taken by force and without consent is theft...you mention "agreement"...when did i agree to be extorted and plundered?...someone must have signed that contract for me.

You know...prior to the 14th Amendment, the United States (the country) had NO citizenship...only the States had Citizens, so, your logic is flawed.

  • @helltrackrider Again, I hope you find a good time machine.

  • Comment removed

  • @p00lman

Sorry...the idiot asking about a "perfect tax system" was not you, too many fucking moon bats who drool at the dick of Government on here and cannot fathom taking responsibility for themselves.

  • @p00lman

So...DADT is NOT an issue today...if you prefer dudes and you are a dude...who the fuck cares.

If the other military guys dont like it, take a fucking hike...they are a waste of money anyways.

Pull out your Constitution...explain to me where the government can say "yes' or "no" to gays being in the military or when they can show their "gayness"...it doesnt...it allows the formation of the Navy...end of power.

  • @p00lman

The REAL problems are our fiat currency, the illegal wars, our education and WHY the federal government is even involved, the lack of State representation and power in our government...the invasion of our privacy, the fraud of our bankers and wall street, the federal reserve, fractional reserve banking, our governments (Fed, Local, State) spending MORE than 40% of the GDP of this country - with the Federal spending over 25%

DADT and personal issues, like Healthcare, are not.

  • That "Yes" was less than dulcet, I must say.

  • When this vote fails, remember: Obama did nothing--made no phone calls, lobbied no one--to get DADT repealed. He has done nothing all along, except make promises.

As long as the bankers are happy, Obama really doesn't give a shit.

  • @SubmarinerAndroid

you said it...government doesnt give two shits about people or their right to pursue happiness...hell, since the Fed was created poverty has been increasing and the wealth distribution has been spreading every year...

truth lays in the actions of our government, not in the promises...DDT was banned by our government and as a result, 40-60 million people have died from malaria...does America care about you?...no...it only cares about Politics.

  • @SubmarinerAndroid Ummm....you could, ummm.... just type "Obama DADT" to see that he's been reaching out to get this done.
