I think the main reason the Distillers didn't get any bigger they did is because they were viewed purely as a form of rebellion. Even though Ive heard that Brody vs. Joan have similar voices, unfortunately Joan is widely and more socially acceptable? Viewed as a role model for young girls to stand out, yet Brody is viewed as a negative influence. Id accept my children listening to Distillers over Joan Jett. RIP DISTILLERS

I love their albums and here voice. I've been listening to the muffs and Distillers all day at work. My guess is that if she had pressed on and kept up that very raw punk music she may have established herself a little more. Then again maybe that wasn't here intention.
