It's not really a blog. Joomla can automatically link to articles in a category or section. You can choose List, which is a linked list of titles, or you can choose Blog, which include the intro text with read more link or a complete article. But the articles need to be in the category or section first before anything shows.
Now I am thoroughly confused. You set up the blog, but what did it actually get linked from? Where do you assign it from a menu item. I'll watch it a few more times but this was very difficult to follow.
