  • I interviewed Chris at the London Palladium back in the early 2000s and can honestly say he was one of the nicest guys I have ever met!

  • Saw him on PBS recently.........He Still Looks Hot!

  • Tony Hatch is a brilliant songwriter. This, along with 'Where are you now my love' are beautifully crafted sounds.

  • Owe! I remember I was 12.. in Arica ,, Chile.. this music in downtown.. I never knew that it was Christ the singer!!!! I love this guy! My first love.. I was about 12.

  • love the dancing -brings back a lot of memories. LOL Hell, I still dance like that!!!!

  • This really brings back memories.

  • :22 sec...Herb Alpert encouraging Chris to swing it! This is cocktail sippin GREAT!

  • @hollies65 Aha... Thank you... he also penned another of my nostalgic favourites Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany's which starred my favourite gal, Audrey Hepburn... I love the path of these things. Certain cats in my time really had a profound affect on a big portion of my sentimental history and to them I say THANK YOU, and to you, my friend, thank you for your information. Cheers...

  • @555ontario i thought the late Great Hank Mancini wrote moonriver and scored "breakfast at tiffany's".

  • @hollies65 Several members of the Tijuana Brass were the back-up musicians on this such as Julius Wechter on vibes,

  • @hollies65 They should have put this on the Gold Record they sent into space with VOYAGER....not a bad message to send to an intelligent life form.

  • Obviously not David Winters choreography but great song. Chris still sounds great.,

  • I love to see the girls dancing!

  • @rickhatch1 Their dancing at some points reminds me of "The Peanuts" dancing during the rehersing of their Christmas play in "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown"

  • great fun and a cool video!

  • I love this song as it, like Spanky and our Gang's "like to get to know you" a few other songs, simply brings me back to my days in the 60's (my first 10 years of life). I can't explain it but I feel the whole vibe come back... so weirdly wonderful. Does anyone know who the originator was? Is it perhaps a songwriter who farmed it out to a number of artists or something....?

  • @555ontario It was written by Tony Hatch who wrote lots of hits in the 60s, including Downtown. Google him.

  • @555ontario

This song was produced by Herb Albert, who had a lot to do with this 'cool lounge sound' via the Tijuana Brass of the early '60"s- definately the coolest of cool songs! I played it 'till I wore it out.

  • @555ontario Songwriter for this was Harry Warren "42nd Street" but must check that.

  • Chris was born the same day as my late Father (17th January) This is my favourite version of Call Me.

  • I HEARD CHRIS MONTEZ IN A INTERVIEW ON KRLA 1110 AM LOS ANGELES BACK IN THE EARLY 80'S SAID HE WAS SURFING WAY BEFORE THE BEACH BOY EVER DID.. SURFER BOY.. CHICANO

  • @mryellowcrown I heard the Beach Boys never did surf. Rock on Chris rules.

  • @craignshari - Beach Boys Class of 1960 Hawthorne -

Chris Montez Class of 1960 Hawthorne High School -
