  • 4:58 they having conversation

  • Andy.....all those note.....represent all souls......AMAZING MAESTRO...

  • ANDY PLAYS BOSSA NOVA!

  • Brazilian music is very popular huh?

  • the opening solo were a demonstration of "garota de ipanema" brazillian music very popular. many musicians play this song like diana krall, and many other musicians who plays blues and similar generes

  • what if steve and andy team and make a band!?!?!?! that would be the shit!

  • @littletingoddess96 What if they made a baby? That would be even more insane!!! LOL

  • @pull75 if that was possible the world would be destroyed by awesomeness!!!!!

  • steve vai should turn his volume up a bit , but i think andy timmons shouldve played more to be honest, i wish he wouldve played the first

  • WTF ? Ibanez in the backround? so WHY ANDY TIMMONS FUCKED IT WITH HIS FENDER SPECIAL SOLO ? :D

  • @RaouFSilVeR that is ibanez AT100CL SB you idiot!!!

  • @RaouFSilVeR lol thats his strat replica made by ibanez. think before u comment (word to the wise dude i made the mistake b4 too)

  • @RaouFSilVeR Andy is playing an Ibanez.

  • Steve hates jazz :P

  • Lol, Porno music at the start

  • @clay2606 Elevator music feels better

  • @clay2606 & @pepectm Mother Fuckers... it's "Garota de Ipanema", great brazilian "bossa" song.

  • go andy

  • they should have played girl from ipanema

  • Garota de Ipanema ftw!!!

  • A song to fly!

  • yeah....Girls from ipanema....

  • garota de impanema?

    meus idolosestão tocando?

  • cumm when andy begans first solo

  • Andy Timmons is he a Brazilian? he played.. " Girls from ipanema,(tom jobim)0:06"

All the best musicians around the world drink water here...

    cheers from Brazil

    viva a musica Brasileira

    Viva a boa musica

  • two of the masters....I really think Steve Vai is the best guitarist alive... I always thought Andy Timmons was soooo underated.....

  • garota de ipanema

  • garota carioca ''

  • Yes this is "The Girl from Ipanema", from Vinícius de Moraes.

  • @juvirox No, it's sounds more like the girl from Hooters

  • it is an OK solo, you guys have low standards

  • @TurkiyeCumhurbaskani The solo's were tastefully done. Too many guitarists treat solo time like a drive by shooting. Pull the trigger and spray bullets out there. Not this time. Andy played it close to the hip and didn't let the solo get in the way of the song. Each note fit the song (except for the note-a-thon at 6:11). Steve took his technique and slid it right into the groove as well. I dig it.

  • waooo!!! andyy ur greatt!! just a little mistake but... that´s a great solo!

  • Andy has such a great sense of harmony. Don't think I can say the same for steve though but a great guitarist nonetheless

  • olha que coisa mais linda mais cheia de graça ...... começo tom jobim!

  • Sounds like Timmons tries to play as of the melody as he can :P

  • This video contains content from Sony Music Entertainment. It is not available in your country.

  • steve can't sing...

  • andy timmins has a very nice warm fuzzy sound. i like it.

  • bom

  • 6:13 ... the dueling shredding just melted my face.

think Hendrix knew what kind of beautiful monster he spawned when he wrote this thing back in '68? and it was only two and half minutes long on Axis

  • I dont like this...!! fuck...!

I Love Little Wing G3 version (Satriani, Vai and Malmsteen)

  • Ipanema girl <3

  • haha Andy is such a nice and funny guy...with extraordinary sense of music

  • This version is a little better than the G3...

and yes in that G3 malmsteen don't was good in little wing...

  • @tetragramatonadr Malmsteen can play harmonic minor scale and stop. There's and abism between him and Timmons. Timmons is really melodic, Malmsteen is all scalar, and always the same scale, don't you think?

  • @112358miau

yep... jaja that's one of the points than malmsteen can't do because he's very grasped with the scale that he use...

  • @112358miau we'll malmsteen is one of the most musically intelligent people around today, he could play any scale or chord know to man, he just picks what he needs for his songs

  • @112358miau not true. I think he used a minor pentatonic scale at some point in his cover of 'Carry On my Wayward Son'

  • @b0b1919 Yes, the only diference is pentatonic= 1,3,4,5,7. You only change the 2nd and 6th for all modes, harmonic is a bit diferent, so most of the scales used are minor pentatonic + something

  • Very innovative solo by Andy.........just awesome...uggggggh jawdropped!

  • andys tone and solo is incredible.. i have to get mesa lonestar now for sure!

  • @SuperKagey no way man, he uses stiletto and lonestar! Use the stiletto, lonestar is kinda 1-dimensional (I've played through them a lot). Great for that melancholy blues tone and a great clean but it's not memorable IMO

  • andy's solo is so beautiful, full of soul and perfect tone as usual

  • Ah, q pena! Podiam ter continuado com Garota de Ipanema! Quem sabe, um dia...

  • Bora Steve !!!! toca A garota ai ...quero ver!!! kkkk

  • yeah thats retarded!

  • @Kirok: spot on comment. Timmons solo is completely different from any other i've heard over this song. Simply put its the shizz. Is it just me or does Vai seem to be trying to match the inventivness but failing and then pullin out one of his standard licks at 4:14 in an attempt to recover?

  • Actually, his "standard lick" that you probably CAN'T play, is the solo he did in G3 Live in Denver back in 03'. Get your facts straight before you comment, he doesnt use that "standard lick" every time... Hes just good at it

  • @Mofozofo youve just backed up my point? He tried something new it didnt quite work aswel, so he used one of his licks he used before 'G3 Live in Denver' which he knows will work? How does he know it will work? because its a standard lick which he used before... For it to work he'd have to be good at it which he knows he is so he uses it to attempt to recover?

  • @mytt88 actually, the stuff he played first was really good. eye of the beholder shit you know,

  • steve as an awesome voice..

  • grande Timmons tocando garota de ipanema - Tom Jobim! Brasil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ajaaj, en la intro se confunde y lo hace qedar bien igua xD

  • The first two choruses of Timmons' opening solo were CELESTIAL. What an amazing thing to hear such melodic inventiveness and compositional discipline from a guy who can spray 32nd notes all over the place. Of all the post-Satch axe virtuosos, I think he's the most melodic.

  • Definitely

  • @Kirok indeed, hes the tone king after all... he has such a beautiful phrasing, i guess in bluesy melodic player terms hes in my top 3...

  • @Kirok I think that's just the reverb...:)

  • @Kirok I've always said this same thing of Andy. Of all the virtuoso guitarists, I've always felt that he brings the strongest sense of melody to the table...

  • @Kirok

    Truly modal and highly emotional.

    Thats Timmons!

  • @Kirok To be honest the list of greatest guitarists ever pretty much has to be anyone who's played with g3 (with a few exceptions). Then the order depends on whether you prefer melodic or speed.

  • @Kirok You used a lot of flowery adjectives right there. I agree though, Timmons is incredible. While he could crush this song with a lot of fast notes, he chooses not to. Well done.

  • I love this

  • c'mmon.....show some respect!!! the song on the beginning is called "girl from ipanema - tom jobim"

  • anyone know the name of the song at the start lol

  • Steve vaii ..! es el mejor

  • garota de ipanema isuhasiahsiuahsahshaiushaihsuihasihai

  • Wow,Timmonds really interprets the vocal lines on guitar really well.

  • F***en insane! Thanks for upload loading this! I love the end. Andy really plays well with anyone.

  • Andy was amazing there, his solo shines

  • steve é fantastico, e ainda tocaria "garota de ipanema" de tom jobim( brasil ) excelente

  • Great solo by Andy.

  • Andy said: ´That´s on YouTube for sure yea´-Steve replied to Andy:´You can get arrested for doing that around here and I know how old that girl from ipanema is...´´

  • steve said thats on youtube and steve saidyou can get arrested for doing that round here andy said : i hope so : and steve said : I know how old that girl from ipanema is

  • Gahahahaha, the drummer missing half the intro was hilarious, halfway through it liked tweak to him that he was supposed to be playing.

  • Ever heard the original version? It's supposed to be that way.

  • Oh? From listening to the original it seems that the drums cut in maybe half a measure quicker than they do here.

  • You're right, could be a mistake. But it's not like this is a note for note cover, so it might just be the interpretation.

  • It very well could be, I mean these are all world class musicians, it seems unlikely they would make mistakes.

  • Or maybe they sound great anyways? They have way too much other music to play on a daily basis. So don't respect perfection in covers.

  • No.. The drums come in at the right time lol. I've heard several versions of this song a load of times. They come in at the right time.

In most of versions of the song, the vocals don't come in that early (they do come in that early in the original though) so maybe that could be a throw-off. But the intro isn't supposed to have any drums until the part where they come in so I don't see why you're laughing at the drummer for playing the song correctly.

  • they played "the girl from ipanema" from carlos jobin. its a brasialian song (bosa nova)

  • strafuckin great

  • I loved the intro xD

they said something 'this is for youtube brazil' or whatever.

So cool, I love Little Wing~ one of my favourites. SRV's my all time favourite :)

  • Im pretty sure he said thats on youtube for sure....

  • Yep, that's what he said - I was there, last saturday...

  • foda caralho!

  • There is a PRS amp on stage behind Vai. WHo else was playing here?

  • THere is also one behind Andy

  • IDK but I know that the PRS band plays at a lot of guitar shows.

  • the prs band?

  • Befor Steve Vai came and played with Andy, The PRS Band including Paul Reed Smith himself, Bernie Marsden (Ex-Whitesnake;) and John Wesley had a jam with Andy.

    It was great.

  • @Dantex350 I love John Wesley!!!! That must have been phenomenal!!

  • @LydianHarmony

    Yeah, it was just awesome...:)

  • google it. I think Paul Reed Smith himself played there.

Natürlich durfte man nichts aufnhemen. Aber wir sind hier bei YouTube...;-). Keines dieser Videos dürfte existieren. Letztendlich ist aber alles Werbung. Es wird ja keiner bloßgestellt. Es spielen ja alle unglaublich perfekt.

  • @Dantex350 timmons and satch for the WIN! my two favorite guitarists along with eric johnson
