there is stat gear you get and costume pieces stat gear has its own slots and doesnt take up costume piece slots

i bought the 6 month subscription if i had the money id buy the lifetime. The game does have a few bugs and balance issues but name a mmo that doesn't. this game is GREAT fun and i recommend it to everyone.

It's brand new, so its player base isn't very large yet.

Also, I've been hearing about a LOT of bugs and compatibility issues from my friend and forum members, so it may be best to wait a few months until the worst can be sorted out.

Every MMO has tons of bugs and glitches in the beginning. Like you said, it's likely that all the major ones will be eliminated in about a month.

I remember City of Heroes running pretty smoothly on launch.

Mapserver issues and occasional server crashes, and the occasional zoning mishap, but nothing as crippling as your health failing to regenerate or attacks not going off when triggered.

I witnessed lots of both today. :'(

I'm really excited for this game to iron out the worst bugs and work out a happier spawn generation system that avoids dropping groups of 5 on top of a solo hero in combat. The concept is gold. EXECUTE!

I wasen't there in the beginning so I can't attest to your statement, but I'm pretty sure it had plenty of glitches that needed fixing. I know Tabula Rasa damn sure did, I was there for beta and opening with them. And I've talked to plenty of people who were there when WoW started; it had it's share of problems as well. You can't make a game that massive and not expect to have alot of problems to deal with, especially at launch. They'll work it out. Can't wait till I can pick up a copy.

Besides balance itself (PVE and PVP), it has one of the best launches. I have only ran into 1 or 2 glitches, and they were missions I couldn't complete.

Very minimal to no lag, no server crashes, not a ton of bugs. Just like the CoH launch.

well you have to pay monthly, but there was a lifetime membership for 200$, not sure thats still there though

I'll never understand why people think it's actually feasible to play an MMO like this for free. MMOs like these require TONS of maintanance. You also need content updates, patches, and events to keep the game fresh. Who do you think programs, writes story arcs, animates characters, etc. Those people need to be paid for their work, and the company wants to have a nice profit margin as well. How the hell could a company justify all that work put into a game without more revenue coming in ?

Yes, you get costume pieces and items, the costume peices are cosmetic, and the items boost your stats and unlock costume pieces

Champions Online is awesome. No set classes means if you want to mix powers then you can do it. The combat is intuitive and the fights are epic. If you know how to play well 1v1 PvP could last indefinitely. Can't wait to get my hands on the game again come Friday when the headstart begins.
