IMO, Ron Paul doesn't get as much credit as he deserves because he insists on running on the Republican side. Obviously, not all his ideas align with democrats' but I believe he'd be doing even better if he was running on the democratic ticket.
As a democrat, I would have no problem voting for Dr Paul and I know many more dems/lib who would do the same. If not this time, maybe next time in 2016 he needs to make a big change if he is serious about the presidency.
I've noticed something peculiar about pro-Ron Paul videos. They often show his views on foreign affairs (aka wars), social liberties (drugs, abortion), and fiscal issues (taxes, spending, debt), but they completely avoid his thoughts about the Federal Reserve and about gold.
Is this because nobody understands them, or because even his supporters disagree with those views?

As a flaming liberal, my position is that if Ron Paul wins the Presidency, it wouldn't be that bad. I agree with at least half of his positions.
Maybe Ron Paul should run as an independent if he doesn't win the primary. I wouldn't worry about a vote for Ron Paul being a vote for Obama. A lot of democrats are so disgusted with Obama that they'll be voting green party and not Obama.
