Regulations here in Washington say you can only keep dungeness crab that are male, have a hard shell, and are at leased 6 inches across.

Went out last Thursday around area 9# with my brother's friend from Vegas(he wanted to crab-fish) ok so after a 45min soak on the pots the first pull we get blanked, 2nd pull produces 10 dungies of which 8 were legal keepers man a really nice pot i think i landed a pot on a little shelf were the crab hang out or something.

So we limited out on the next pot.

They sell at Wallmart, Fred Myers, and most sports shops.

@Nick75987 It may not be something they sell online. I'm not sure what you have in your area but look for a major sports shop of some kind. Because crabbing is so big here, almost all the major chains carry them. The closer you live to the ocean the better your chances of finding them. Good luck.

Well i hope that area (#6?) will be open Nov 1 if not maybe areas 9 or 10 or maybe in the hood. Are you using chicken or fish heads for bait?

Area 6 is closed but may open again if there is a quota available.

Areas 9 and 10 are closed. I don't know if they will open. Sekiu and Pillar Point are open but we didn't catch any keepers. Pillar point is the only place anyone has caught anything. Brother spent a week in Sekiu and didn't get one.

Were you keeping 10 crabs per person, or 5 per person (two people on boat)?

You can only keep 5 per person per day. Two traps per person and no more then four traps per boat.

@SongOfWhiteWolf thats what i like about most people- they dont take themselves too serious and loose out on the fun in live. i just came back form newport oregon yesturday afternoon, 22 keeper dungeness crab between 2 days of crabbing. all hard shelled, most where 7+inches as well.. nice video.. your my kinda of crabbing partner..
