Got shuffled over onto this from the Over the Waterfall you did, left a note for you there, and still have my zouk in my lap. This is terrific to play along with -- you've covered rhythm and melody at once, so I can play either one and it sounds cool! Thanks for posting! -- Scott
Where can I buy a reasonably priced octave mandolin.? I am a beginner, so I don't really want to spent $thousands, but want a good sounding one. I bought a morgan monroe and love it, but like the sound of the octave as well. Anyway, thanks for all the posts. I have learned quite a bit from watching you.
As always, the playing if great! Thanks Jim. The octave mandolin is particularly crisp and responsive and that deserves a rave. As a long time mandolin family builder (since 1979) I can appreciate the design and construction of that instrument. Thanks again for the great music and the chance to hear great instruments.
Appreciate it. Why cover old ground that someone has done better? To me, the final word on Whiskey Before Breakfast is Norman Blake. Why not try to find a treatment that reflects me and pays homage to the original fiddle tune?
lovely stuff. What tuning are you using? I am a fan of GdGd but I feel its a bit of a cheat. Please ease my conscience.

Sounds great. Few string, old time or Bluegrass are plowing entirely new ground. This has a great sound as is another interpretation eh ?

WOW I love your instrument, what's the make/model?
I have a serious weakness for the two-point mandolin instruments but can't afford one :(
