When its running all slow, if you turn it off, do the blades manually move freely? If so I think its probably a more of an electrical problem, maybe the choke coil as you said...
I wonder if it is not something with the switch like a bad connection or something.
@clubcar98 When it starts slowing down, the blades spin fine. I just noticed after rewatching the video that the capacitor that I put in is rated as 50 Hz not 60 Hz. I don't know if that makes a difference or not, but being slightly smaller is probably also causing it to run slower.
@lexmarks567 Yeah I know that... I bought the cap from ebay and didn't even notice that it was a 50 Hz. until after I watched the video. Cap's replaced now though and the fan's working great.
You need 60 Hz not 50 Hz

@general0ne 50HZ or 50 cycles is for British power 60hz or 60 cycles is for north America, you need a 60hz.
