This guy benches with great form! If you touch your chest, especially with that much weight on the bar, you can mess your shoulder up really bad to the extent of having to have surgery!
That's badass man and congrats. I'm 5'6" and 155-160ish and am trying to get up to 300 lbs, but I plateau around 255. It's tough and that's a shitton of weight. Did you use a bench shirt?

Your not suppose to go down to chest, there is no point. Because you are then transferring the weight from your chest to your shoulders which then you can tear tendons in your shoulders.

He didn't touch chest + butt went too up so I wouldn't count it as rep but I'm sure if he lifts again with touching chest he would defienetly able to do it. That gap is extremely small. But I personally don't know if he's on roids so I won't vote. If I knew he was on roids I would dislike and if not I would defienetly like. That's good amount weight for that age.

@gmfr34k that is the dumbest thing Ive ever read (and there are some stupid comments on this video), the range of motion for bench press requires you to eventually get to 90 degrees. If you arent achieving the full ROM then you are doing your bench wrong. That shoulder pain is either from bad form or fatigue on the stabilizing muscles in your shoulder (rotator cuff).
No touch=no lift in any competition. And in a college weight room the trainers would have a hayday with you. Touch your chest. this is probably a 400lb bench press.

Your muscles don't start to mature until you are at least 25 years old. For him to bench 500 would mean he would have had to start at the age of 12. That is a damn good lift. Keep in mind, no bodybuilder was able to do this until 1957, and he doesn't weigh like a power lifter some 300 lbs+, so gotta give him some credit. Much better than most of the other heavy bench videos on here.

@gmfr34k that is the dumbest thing Ive ever read (and there are some stupid comments on this video), the range of motion for bench press requires you to eventually get to 90 degrees. If you arent achieving the full ROM then you are doing your bench wrong. That shoulder pain is either from bad form or fatigue on the stabilizing muscles in your shoulder (rotator cuff).

Strong lift and i will not insult your strength. But you and I both know that in powerlifting rules that would never have counted. Remember techinique before ego. If you cant touch your chest and pause with it then its not your 1rm.

19 years old and benching 500, Hmmmm, I wonder how much steroids he is using. It takes years of dedication to build up to a big bench. Your muscles don't start to mature until you are at least 25 years old. For him to bench 500 would mean he would have had to start at the age of 12. I don't know many 12 year old bodybuilders nowadays.

That is a damn good lift. Keep in mind, no bodybuilder was able to do this until 1957, and he doesn't weigh like a power lifter some 300 lbs+, so gotta give him some credit. Much better than most of the other heavy bench videos on here.
