Your videos are great!. Duffey lake is a spectacular ride, but the road was very rough (with dreaded gravel and sand on the turns) last time I rode it. Was it the same for you? Ride safe.  (Great campsites along Duffey)

@2000tc88 Your absolutely right it was a buzz. There have been other sightings of black bears in our travels but for the most part they have been only brief glimpses, which made capturing this footage quite exciting.

Seems like young bear. Here in finland was report about bear mowing, not much far away from my grandmothers house. I have never seen a bear yet as live in other places than zoo.

Hi 306lan,

My best guess is that this bear is about 1 1/2 years old, and this is most likely his/her first winter away from it's mother. Looks like he/she needs to fatten up for the upcoming winter.

Nice video capture!! For those of you that aren't familiar with the Duffy Lake Loop... this video represents a couple of minutes of the 7 hour ride, of which, most is simply spectacular. Especially the new hwy from Horseshoe Bay to Whistler... check it out on Google Maps "Street View"! They've covered as far as Whistler!
