You know it's interesting watching these and seeing you take alternate paths. I've had this game since it came out essentially and there were some paths that you took that I've never seen before, or at least don't remember. That was especially true for this stage and the first split path you took. Had never even seen some of those enemies before.
@RoahmMythril Benkei reminds me of Gilgamesh for Final Fantasy. Except that he just kept getting most of the time Fake copies of the hero's weapons. Except for three weapons 1) Masamune 2) Excalibur 3) Zantetsuken. He's also gotten Excailpoor, the copy of Excalibur that does little to no damage. But even though he's a screw up most of the time he's actually one of my favorite FF characters.
I like Yamato Man, he's a pretty cool Robot Master. I hardly take the lower paths. I should take them more often. Even though I won't get the Beat Part, haha.
You know, there IS a real miniboss to this stage. I think you have to smash the first cracked barrel with the Power Adaptor. It's some sort of Hun warrior on a giant frog. You have to see it.
@luteus77 I believe that warrior is based off of Jiraiya, a mythical japanese warrior that had mastered frog magic. Probably where Naruto got their Jiraiya.
What the Hades is a Yamato? Is it anything like a "Tomato?" I swear, one day I will design a Robot Master called Tomato Man...and he will kick (pardon the pun) Plant Man's pansy ass. :)
@RoahmMythril On Yamato: It's also a badass katana in one of Capcom's other franchises. It was held by some dude voiced by a guy who played a Power Ranger once.
...Right when Capcom thought they were free of scrolling related troubles, along comes enemy types that can simply walk backwards off-screen! XD I did quite enjoy abusing MM2's scrolling issues when recording Rockman No Constancy, though, hehe.
Hey RoahmMythril, do you consider Mega Man 6 to be the easiest Mega Man? If not what is? Also I was planning on doing no damage runs using the robot master weapons, but also playing the Wily stages. What game do you think would be easiest to pull that off on?
6 probably does feel like the easiest to me. As for that, using weapons will help out a lot, I'd personally say 4 or 5 might be your best bet there. Just remember to shoot Bright Man once with the buster before going to Rain Flush to keep him from using Flash Stopper ;)
Fighting yamatoman is easy. You can beat him by just shooting him and waiting for him to do his jump thing. Just stand still if he's jumping over you and every arrow will land very close to you but won't actually hit you.
I'm surprised you rated his difficulty so high, Yamatoman was the first one I buster-dueled in MM6 without getting damaged. Of course, this is probably mostly because he's my favorite design, but the only I think is easier is Knightman (of course lol)
He takes a good bit of practice, learning to read his attacks right and have enough room to dodge basically. It's also made trickier by the stiff controls of MM6, the sliding is... really bad in this game.
excuse me RoamMythril but if i ever made a megaman game with 1 boss from each game every boss would have an evect when they are hit with there own wepon Yamatomans would be whene hes hit with yamato spear he shoots a yamato spear at the screen causing it to break and make glass fall
"Yamato (大和) was originally the area around today's Sakurai City in Nara Prefecture of Japan. Later the term was used as the name of the province and also as an ancient name of Japan. The term was semantically extended to mean Japan or Japanese in general, and carries many of the same connotations as Americana does for the United States."
I was paying attention and yes, every robot master in this game is durable. Every robot master only loses one unit of health when hit with the Mega Buster.
well this is a pointless coment which..but ive watched 80 vids...and im calling it a night...i hate being 6-8 hours ahead of america...sogh but what can you do...zzzz
Yeah, I've heard a lot of people hate on this game, but I thought it was still very enjoyable. I think the whole bait & switch with the "fake new villain" was getting old after MM4 & 5 did the exact same thing (or perhaps Capcom was parodying it with Mr. X; after all, they didn't take much effort to disguise him). Still, I found MM6 to be a great game nonetheless.
OMG, BurnerMan, uncharged-buster-only with Rock? Impossible. You almost HAVE to use an Ice Wall to escape Bomber-Telly #3. Or a charge-shot to take out the cannon fast enough to barely escape. o.o
You'd have to be one incredibly mad dragon to pull that off!
Benkei amazing warrior of great stature and strength fought along the Minamoto Clan. Also he will be coming out as a new character in the new game by Koei, Warriors Orochi Z or (The Collective)
FYI, I've been using Camstudio with the main video settings at set Key Frames every 30 frames, 50 ms, and 20 frames/s for SNES. Every so often I'll have a problem but lately it's been problem free.
Yamatoman is a great Rm if you ask me... like you said: isnt frustrating but isnt easy either. So.. Snes Megaman then... you could try a great emulator that has several useful utilities: like recorder XD
Well, its time to say good bye to the NES series...*sniff* many beloved robot masters born here...oh well, thus far the robot masters have falled down to your feet (and the japanese dragons have been avenged)
oh well, deserved break time, enjoy your own time and kill yourself in tohou or wathever bullet hell you have and we will see ya again facing Freeze, Burst, Cloud, Spring, Slash, Turbo, Shade and Junkman...Good luck!
Indeed, I'll probably be taking some downtime with either Pokemon or Bubble Bobble Plus now that that's out on the Wii. That and drawing of course. But MM7 will start whenever I get the recording figured out and feel up to it, probably about a week or so if I don't get bored X)
Chances are I'll be doing EXE vids anyway, I think I'm leaning more toward the SNES version of Mega Man & Bass. My main reasoning there is the GBA version has some noticeable slowdown, especially in the audio.
Metal destroys Ice I guess? As for Cloud Man... that's when the old grey cloud burst? Meh... it was quite comical really to see him trapped inside a bubble and go boom.
Megaman 2 was filled with multiple weaknesses... bosses did not have arbitrary weaknesses back then (Bubble Man takes 2-4 damage to Crash Bombs and Quick Boomerang and 4-8 to Metal Blades).
Also, Slash Man had the same two weaknesses as Burst Man (Scorch Wheel and Freeze Cracker)! Dive Man was the only one in MM4 with 2 weaks.
Thus ends the NES series. Great job Roahm, you've gone through lots of stages that were easy, tough, and tedious, but you did it! (cue fireworks). And yeah, I don't blame you for taking a break, because there is A LOT of stuff to do in MM7.
I'm sad that you're done with the NES series. Oh well.
The thing I didn't like about 6 was that the character bosses were so odd looking, other than the last three you fought. But the alternating paths were a good idea.
Well, have a good break then. See you when you get back. :D What I'm curious about though is how you're going to do Megaman and Bass. The option to play as both characters warrants a little bit of a change from your usual formats.
I'll probably only be doing Mega Man. My friend Kit actually ran through the game with Bass, it wasn't a perfect run series, but still quite fun to watch. As such, I'll probably only be doing Mega Man, since it fits the rest of my series anyway.
Not really. Roahm likes rapid fire, and Bass just happens to have rapid fire, along with double-jump and dash. He can't slide or charge shots like Megaman, but eh, can't have everything.
I doubt I'll be doing the X series. I'm really not a fan of those games. I don't like the whole "dark future" thing, the series starts getting WAY too angsty for my tastes, and I just don't find them as fun as the original series.

Something funny I noticed about the first four bosses in 7:
Freeze Man's weakness is the Junk Shield. Cloud Man's weakness is the Danger Wrap. Don't get how either of those work...
Also, Burst Man happens to have TWO weaknesses. Why his predecessor Bubbleman didn't, I'm not sure.
IAMBLITZMAN 2 years ago
Bubbleman actually has two weakness....one being his natural weakness (The Metal Blades) and the other one being the Quick Boomerangs (That in MM2)
if its from all of the games, the bubbleman weakness are:
Metal Blades (MM2)
Quick Boomerang (MM2, not intended to)
Shadow Balde (The Power Fighters)

Okay. That explains Burstman.
