not quite the same but very similar. the L-1011 had the RB211-524 series and the 757 is powered by RB211-535 series. Same Family but the 535 series is not as powerful as the 524 series.

I'm glad that my national carrier ( Miat - Mongolian Airline) just leased the B-2569 B767-3W0R with the RB211 :D ( i heard that they want to lease a second B767 of china eastern also with the RB211 :D :D)

... uff... Miat 767-3W0 (3W0 = China Yunnan Airlines ) with JU-1011 registration (former China Eastern/ Yunan B-2569) with 2x RR RB211-534 H engines ... look it up with the registration code on google: every aircraft database tells it. This is one of the few rare RR powerd 767-3s ...

Every airline can choose their engines so there is no "767s use GE CF6 in general" next time be sure before you troll...

normally when you hear the growling noise very loudly. The pilots are not peforming a full thrust takeoff. If you don't hear the growl as much, its a full thrust takeoff
