Canmanda, Watch some nature programs on tv. Ever have a cat, bird or a dog? What about studies of primate behavior? Many primates commit murder and carry grudges that last lifetimes. Mammals have similar emotions apparently so this shouldn't seem abnormal. Why didn't she kill the rhino when it happened ? I don't know, I wasn't there. Perhaps the shock of such a horrible incident would explain that. Otherwise do you really think she learn this behavior from humans in the intervening year?

Actually it is quite possible. If you look deeper into animal behavior, insinct is created by the actions of the ancestors. Even the domesticated dogs and cats of today exhibit behavior that most would assume they'd eventually forget. Take a Chow Chow for instance. Years ago, they were used for war. Even now, many Chows are considered aggressive and usually only take to one person. It's very intersting to see just how much influence we actually have on animal behavior.
