The thing they really need to do is learn how to tell a story. The common link that Jeremy, Richard, and May all have is that they are journalists. I think that is the leg up that they have over the American Top Gear guys. Everything I get with ATG is just non sequiturs, bad analogies, and sub par editing.

@Petersworld518 No, do you know what BTG has that ATG lacks? Chemistry between the presenters. Clarkson, Hammond, and May are fantastic together. These guys are just boring. Plus, we are all used to the UK Accents, and suddenly american accents... Just doesn't work. Pretend it's BTG voies and it suddenly becomes much more tolerable. And I'm American, fwiw.

A word to the haters: Rome was not built in a day. BBC's Top Gear got to where it is today after 17 seasons of hard work. This episode was from Top Gear USA's first season - I don't think it's fair to compare something with potential that's trying to spread its wings to something that's already established for a long while.

Besides, what would you do if Clarkson, Hammond, and May call it quits in the future? At least by then Top Gear USA will have improved by leaps and bounds.

@hiddenbutdeadly that would be because there is A LOT of farmland where one needs a truck to do work. Also there is a lot of desert and mountains where driving off road and on the sand dunes and such is very common.

The point is that the producers thought the brand Top Gear is good enough for success and sold it several times. But the presenters are part of the success.
