Hey Tuan do you ever use rubber olympic plates for this? I am thinking of getting some some day when Ihave money so I can do a fast eccentric and set the bar down quickly. I am worried about the noise and damaging weak floors. I think rubber absorbs the noise.
It's more likely to bounce though so I guess doing the pause before initiating the following rep like you're doing here becomes even more important.
WIll this be as effective if I replace the barbell with this bar for deadlifts? The routine I'm doing is aimed for getting more leg development (increase vertical)
type Trap Bar 840 in the youtube search field up top. There is a video of Josh Bryant doing a trap bar deadlift with 840 and the handles are not raised. Not to take anything away from Tuan, but it's pretty impressive. Josh has admitted to steroids of course.
@roughneckasian Is "Natural Bodybuilder Tuan Tran What it takes" the playlist you're referring to? As opposed to "Powerlifting RAW Drug Free Tuan Tran" which this vid shows up on?
Hey tuan, Im a swimmer and my program in the gym (mainly strength and conditioning) consists of a few platform exercises with other exercises, two of which is the snatch pull and power cleans w/o the jerk. Can you please demonstrate the movements on these two in a possible tutorial? Thanks.
tuan..why you gotta be so good? i wanna get so good at lifting but we don't even having weights offered at our school anymore...and my strength has depleted badly..any info, tips, advice????
@mager258987 i've considered it.. it'd be a perfect idea cept i gotta find a way to make drivin 45 minutes north or south to do it. hah kinda live in a lil "village"...
Tuan ur such a best man. I had a question. For bodybuilding purposes would you recommend deadlifts on back day? Do they really add mass to the upper back? I just don't understand how a lift driven by the hips and only stabilized by the upper back can allow mass to add to the upper back. Wouldn't it need a range of motion?
@FlekkeD many gyms dont have this bar, i been training far longer than truan, and rarely do i see this bar, if i can get my hands on knurled bar stock, i can have some people heat n bend or just bend it, and i can weld it solid, another waty is to cut off ends of a std 45lb bar, and fab the middle part,
Hey Tuan, Still can't believe how lucky we are to have such an experienced bodybuilder, power lifter and fitness guru to give us advice. I was just wondering what exercises you do for biceps when preparing for a bodybuilding competition. Or what exercises you did to get your biceps to the size that they are? Thanks
Hey Tuan bro, I had a question. I normally do partial deadlifts with back (focusing on the lumbar) or still legged deadlifts after legs (focusing on hamstrings).
I see guys like Ronnie Coleman doing full range deadlifts. What is the benefit? Also I see you doing the hex bar deadlifts, I'm curious to try it, should i do it with back training? Thanks bro love the workout vids
aww man, Where i'm from theres no equipment like that, almost all the chains is too main stream and only has standard equipment - no hagsquad or even a curved curlbar..
I have lower back injury, do you have any advices? - as of now i stick with machines and limit my weight to what i can handle with my back, it is enough for now, but if i continue to develop it might trouble me further down the road.
Text during classification was a little small, just though I would let you know for any future videos you may do in this style, which I really like, by the way.
I hope you do it for more specific exercises/equipment.
Hey tuan, when comparing the two is there any difference in terms of muscles worked or is it like the comparison between the EZ bar and straight bar it simple reduces some stress on joints/bones etc.
inspiration man

"Things to know: ... chalk, straps, mixed grip can be used to enhance grip"
lol wat @ last part. Did you copy that from standard deadlifting tips and forget to modify for trap bar?

for a non-powerlifter, is this bar better for deadlifts than a traditional bar or would u suggest mixing it up between both?

Hey, maybe you should release a video comparing the workout routine of a power lifting and a body builder, as you yourself are both.

@Archibald93 I have playlist on both. If you watch the different playlist, it will help you get a better understanding how I train for both.

Some smaller gyms dont have this bar. Is there something similar to this for a person to improvize, or it's just the regular deadlift? :\
