  • My childhood adventure started here.

  • @Alillan same

  • Oh I'll 'Battle her Pocket Monsters' alright ;)

  • Remember when we were naive enough to believe there were only 150...

  • Omg this lady is so shit sweet O_O

But, it's good that you have a old commercial of first Pokemon games <33

  • The Green is similar to our Blue in terms of the Pokemon you can't catch. The JPN Blue is a bit different.

  • "if you buy red or green, it will be a little different"

    WHAT?!?!?!?!?

  • I'm watching this video in the year 2011. So nice......

  • the girl looks kinda like iris

  • Beauty girl wants to fight!

    Beauty girl used Charm!

  • @guardianforce1 Trainser used sleep powder

    Trainer used Pound

    Trainer used Pound

    Trainer used Pound

    Trainer used Pound

  • @SemHSP i just realized she was wearing a lolita outfit xD

  • No, young lady. I don't want to play with you pocket monster! In fact, should i even call you a young LADY?

  • LIERS.

its not 150 it was 151 ... well it used to be. :(

  • @Chase1002newaccount Yes, but Mew was added in as an afterthought, and was going to be a secret Pokemon.

  • @nikkissippi121

    not so secret anymore.

  • And so a stereotype is born

  • Pokemon sure has come a long way, hasn't it?

  • Now when you say "Pocket Monster".....

  • @darknight10000

I think that's why those guys on the bench were hesitant.

  • Wow this was posted the day after my birthday!

  • Yeah, who knew the series would become one of Nintendo's top 5?

  • top 5? its Nintendo's second most popular series right behind Mario

  • @kirbyfan1005 That's what I meant. Mario, Pokemon, Legend of Zelda, Kirby and Metroid.

  • wow I felt really stupid after you said that lol XD

  • And to think, now there are 649 Pokemon.

  • I got the original Pocket Monsters Green, Blue and Yellow and my prized possession of my Pokemon collection is Pocket Monsters Red Version in the original box, excellent condition with original cartridge, manual, and poster.

  • Damn I'd trade pocket monsters with her anyday.

  • @chiefsparten lol you can barely see her.

  • Why does that girl have a huge-ass bow tie on her head?

  • I always love this commercial. It really reminds that age doesn't really matter when it comes to playing Pokemon. Pokemon is a game for everyone, not just for kids.

Even though I stopped watching the TV show and stopped collecting Pokemon cards, I will still continue to read the manga volumes and play the games.

  • natsukashii!

  • hahahhah xD i like the start,: ne ne would you battle my paketo monsta? xD uuuuh :D

  • @japonska2009 "Ne, ne! Atashi no Poketto Monsutaa to shoubu shinai?" XD

  • I lul'd when I saw, "If you but Red or Green, it'll be a little different!".

  • i wonder why in the rest of the world it was red & blue

i guess they thought blastoise looks cooler than venusaur lol

  • @asd616 Well, Japan had blue as well; it came out after R/G, as a third piece (much like yellow was to everywhere else). By the time the games hit the rest of the world, the Japanese Blue was out, and since the Pokemon looked better and several glitches were fixed, our Red/Blue was based off the Japanese Blue.

  • ahahahah

  • What the bleep is is?

  • vermilion city! :')

  • nice now people can understand what they are saying ^^

  • And from this a Multi Million Dollar franchise is born

  • I dont get why the girl squealed. did the men have no gameboys or was its cuz she's so awesome?

  • @knuclear2010 In japan girls make sounds to exclaim their emotions and themselves. So she was feeling delightfully happy, cute and anxiously awaiting a real answer.

  • Comment removed

  • what application did you use to record it?

  • Green version is the equivalent of blue version in US, Red is same in both japan and america, but blue version in japan is the 1 that is special

  • This is amazing, thank you so much for this upload.

  • 151

  • "If you buy red or green, it'll be a little different"

  • I think I just lost like 10 IQ points...

  • o.O

    What was with that girl?

  • "The RPG everyone's playing."

That's not hard to understand. The RPG battle system is genius. The concept of elements/ weakness/ resistances etc. It's great. I'm thankful Pokemon was a part of my childhood. :)

  • @EnglishTurtle Everyone was and is playing it. Pokemon for ever

  • Where did you get this from? This commercial is at least 10 years old, and it's in good quality.

  • I got it from another site. Don't remember where though...

  • @SunnyC247 More like 15.. xD

  • Wasn't it red or blue?

  • Red and Green in Japan. Blue came out later in Japan while Red and Blue were the first two in the U.S.

  • So green is japan exclusive?

  • Yes. Green never made it to the U.S.

  • Did hotel mario ever make it to japan?

  • I shall answer that with a fitting reply.

    Mario: NO

  • Did Zelda:WOG and Link:FOE make it to JP.

  • @Japancommercials4U2 bu what about leafgreen for gameboy advanced

  • the green japanese version is pretty much our blue version with different graphics

  • Actually, Red and Green are completely different from the translations.

Blue was their 3rd game update (as Crystal was to Johto and Platinum is to Sinnoh), so we got Pokemon Red and Blue and never got the original Red or Green.

Pokemon Yellow was the only time there was a fourth update, but it was really the third for Western regions due to the exclusion of Green.

  • the international red/blue versions are the same game as the japanese red/green versions, only the red/blue versions have the graphics and cerulean cave layout from the japanese blue version.
