Both of you are wrong. This isn't really metal, I just put that to get hits. I know it sucks. I did it in 5 minutes because I was bored and put it up because a friend wanted to see it. And have you even listened to any recent metal besides what's on the radio? There's some really good stuff out there. It's just the radio "metal" that is shit.

Obviously, the person who says that the only good metal is from yesteryear is a thrash sheep who can't get his head away from the radio. Check out Anonymus dude. Suffer the Consequences. Look it up on youtube. Really good thrash band, fairly new. What about Opeth? 1990. Another extremely good metal band. Or Soilwork, from 1995. Check out Stabbing the Drama. In Flames, 1990. Come Clarity, Take This Life.

I'm a metalhead at heart, but I haven't really heard much lately that doesn't sound generic. Yeah, you get some bands like Opeth that break the mold, and In flames isn't bad, but as far as what is considered "metal" nowadays is just a farce. chuggy chug chug ROOOOOOOOOAR. Thats the formulae for a lot of new bands, I miss the days where you had to be able to solo out of the box (musicians will know what I mean) and actually construct a song rather than play simple power chords over mic growling.

people thing shredding notes without feeling is metal, its disgusting, sure the greatest can play fast but its there feeling and ability to make such melodic tunes that make them amazing, I.E Paul Gilbert :D

EXACTLY!! playing fast doesn't mean playing good, and I wish kids would realise that just because you can double kick at 58748734 BPM it doesn't make you a good drummer. Same goes for guitar, learn to play well before you learn to play fast.
