Had the honor of serving as a part of the Second Infantry Division, stationed at Camp Garry Owen near Yon Ju Gol in Paju province from 1987-1988. Spent many nights on patrol in the DMZ. Nothing more surreal than to be set up in an ambush position, night black as ink, fog rolling in and those damn North Korean speakers echoing their tinny music and propaganda across the fields. Thanks so much for posting this new view of the DMZ. MUCH has changed, but it looks like the hate continues. Respects

But it was Kim II sung who decided to have it established as North Korea, and tried to invade South Korea to make it both one communist country, causing the Korean war. Now Russia is not communist anymore, but I don't trust their government, it probably has some sneaky corrupt bastards in it. America too. Oh well, Russia alone is the strongest military in the world, they could easily take down North Korea. =)
