Had my 2010 Passat R-Line from new. I've racked up the miles on it now, but I am still as happy with it now as it was when I first picked it up. Great road manners, comfortable, good build quality; a general good all-rounder.

@Notofthisworld13 That's because you've never driven a 300bhp Passat R36 with sports tuned suspension, DSG(Dual Clutch Transmission), Launch Control, and 4motion AWD. It does 0-60 in 5.4 seconds and 1/4 mile in 13.6@ 100 mph. The top speed is electronically limited to 155mph, the the true drag limited top speed would be 175 mph+

I have a 2002 VW Jetta TDI and I love it. Always have liked them more than the civics, colbats, etc... The Germaness sets it apart from the others and it's so much fun. But the 2011 Jetta is built for an American audience. So, it obviously has lost its German styling and handling. I hope they don't Americanize other cars... The Passat's gone and I'm kind of afraid of what's taking its place after seeing they 2011 Jetta...

@idrinorbarsaku Well ,all i know was that VW stopped officially importing Phaeton cars into the US. I'm sure that if you want one in the US, you can still get it, but that means that the dealership where you place your order would have to import it itself.

There WAS talk about dropping the Phaeton, my dad works at VW so i know, but they continued ONLY because their marketshare in the far east tripled.

The Phaeton has not gone anywhere!!! They just discontinued it in the U.S. .....do not know why. Perhaps, because the americans buy cars by the square foot....not by substance! NO offence!

@bahtalorom VW cancelled the Phaeton in the US due to disappointing sales, people did not want to spend over 70K for a car with a VW badge on it.. It was said that VW would discontinue the Phaeton completely but because the sales in China almost tripled, the Phaeton is still in production...just.

I own a Jetta, but I still LOVE the elegance of the passat, albeit a little too big and posh, but as far as styling, they nailed it. If it had a more respectable power rating, I'd take it over most Mercedes and almost over a new BMW 3 series.

@quatlen Fair point, but in the UK the A4 and the Passat are pitched at the same customer base. Had my Passat 10 months now, with nearly 20k miles covered I love it as much as I did at the start.

@quatlen Mine is a black saloon (sedan), I'm lucky enough to have the "highline" model, which in the UK is the top of the range apart from the R36. Gives you leather interior, all the nice trim and extras. With the price of fuel in the UK I chose the 2ltr 140hp diesel engine, average 52mpg. Fantastic car, could not recommend more.

Am testat passat, le-am studiat oferta si am ajuns la urmatoarea concluzie: -pret ridicat -optiuni numeroase si scumpe -fara roata de rezerva in serie -perne de scaune rgide -suspensie NU foarte confortabila -acustica ( motor TDI foarte zgomotos!) -motorul 2.0 140cp nu este atat de agil pe cat s-ar crede:| -tunel central spate mare -fara stergator luneta ...ca puncte forte ar fi cutia DSG si Tiptronic(in optiune),habitabilitate si tinuta de drum

The diesel will return about 4.6 litres/100 kilometres on the highway, and about 6.2 litres/100 kilometres in city driving. Or at least that's what I average. You might get better or worse.
