Is there by any chance possible to get something similar to this but for use in the living room? These ones will make some noise which is not preferable in this case.
@arrowheaddj I have 2 of these. I DJ'd my sisters engagement party. The engagement party had a beach theme seeing as she was getting married on a yacht. It was a hit on the dance floor.
Unfortunately, I don't like the look of the Abyss. I basically want an LED version of the Martin DC1, which the H2O would be if it could be slowed down.
Just get a 2 channel dmx pack. Use one channel for power and open the unit and rig a 120 volt relay switch to the color wheel moter and wire it to channel 2. Now you at least have on/off and color pause.
I love the ADJ line of goods 9 times out of 10. This time is the 1 time I prefer another vendor. No DMX, and no speed control are sadly going to make more sense to head elsewhere. Fix this light for us ADJ. I will hold off for a small bit before buying to see if you can be convinced to change it up for us.
I have the halogen version and it's amazing. You can't imagine the effect on trees during night. I'm mobile and i just love it, using it on wedding cakes and as spot light on dancefloor during couples first dance. The only bad thing is that it has small area coverage (no comparison to a triphase), and the more vertically it is to the ground the better. A bit ugly on a truss lighting in small angle. i love it.
I agree with others, the effect looks more realistic on the previous H2O 250. Still a far cry from my old 150w H2O, tho :) Good job on the updated bracket, power connex, and dual voltage! DMX would be nice but for the price/weight I think we have a winner for those who don't have already have the H2O 250.
i have been looking for a light to compliment my revo3, which i shoot off the ceiling 80% of the time. i think this light may be what i am looking for.
War nur eine frage der Zeit bis es den H2O 250ex als LED gibt. Bin sehr zufrieden mit dem effect. und umweltbewusst werd ich mir den H2OLED zulegen! wie schon viele producte von A dj. weiter so!
I can see a lot of very nice applications for this fixture, very nice effect. This is probably going to wind up on my "to get" list. It's a nice mood setting effect, can you imagine this for a "under the sea" themed dance? Point several of these at the ceiling? hmmmm.....
How far does it cast out before it looses its crispness and starts to fade. Im thinking of getting 4 to be placed on each corner of a large dance floor
nice video

Will this light effect fill a massive room/ dance floor with just the one light??? I think it looks incredible!!!
knightmoves02 7 months ago
American DJ can you make the same effect only with DMX. 1 - On / Off. 2 - Colors and colorscrol. 3- Dimmer / strobe

Could I aim this from the rear center part of a room aimed at the ceiling, and use it on the ceiling? Is the light level adjustable?

thats exactly what i thought! its way too fast to relax to... :(

Nice, but no speed control, and only 34 degrees spread.
Does anyone know of a similar effect that has a wider spread, and can be slowed down so it's really subtle?
cableaddict 1 year ago
@cableaddict, if you want speed control, try the Chauvet Abyss.

I have 2 abyss halogen and at half the price with speed and colour control its a far better buy
wwwchoicedjcouk 2 years ago
No speed control over the water/H20 effect.....major let down in my view for this type of effect.
Next version needs simple 3 channel DMX.....Dimmer/shutter, speed control over water effect, and colour wheel control.
Here in the UK we would need complete control over the effect...even if its designed as a simple DJ/atmospheric lighting effect.
With the power of LED now, why not opt for an RGB colour mix instead of set colour wheel? For install and higher end DJs, it would be perfect
