I am not sure how far you have idea about diff engine design and their histroy. K series engine not even developed by Hyundai. Its a specific petrol engine technolgy was first introduced by MG Rover. Now each manufacturer make their own version following this technology. Basic design remains same. Lot of Maruti cars use Fiat engines.
