I use Bolt browser beta 0.3 on my LG VU and on 3G I was able to load nationalgeographic in 8 seconds with picture and video (flash+quicktime) quality both in EXTREME.

i dont know about this , my edge is definitely way faster than the one shown here. in comparison to the 3g speed is only a few seconds away. and i only have the 5.99 web service. lucky me :-)

how do i use the 3g instead of edge or wi fi, i figured out how to turn off the wi fi but then the only thing that ever shows up is edge is their a way to stop edge or use 3g instead of edge, and i have a 32 gb 3gs if that makes a difference.

I did this test on my HTC Touch Diamond 2 using Opera browser, and where I am 3G loaded in 45 seconds and Edge loaded in 58 seconds so there is not much difference for me generally but 3G is always faster.

there is no 4g its a 3g the iphone 1g is the first gen the phone 2g is the second gen on 2.0-2.2 the iphone 3g is the 2.2.1 on a 3g netwroking the new iphone is already out with the pay as you go in england it wont be named the 4g wih the 3.0 firmware it will be the 3g 3g because its the 3rd generation with a 3.0/3g firmware hopefully that has cleared up some questions

When I say 4G i mean the next generation, i use that term because many dont know of the full names (3g=2.21)

Just tested the same website on my unlocked iPhone 3G on T-Mobile. I'm on EDGE, with full 5 bars. The site loaded in 37 seconds.

Yeah, it's totally network dependent. and I'm pretty sure EDGE speeds are degraded infavor of 3G..

I'm on T-Mobile now it's pretty snappy when it's at 4 bars or more (very often).

I did the exact same test with both of my iPhones and my Edge is much faster and they has the same memory, i cleared everything, just like you did. I did this test 20 times on different areas, times, and websites and 16 out of 20 Edge loaded before 3G. Sorry bud you need to do more expiramenting before you post a video like this.

3G speed all depends on which network its running on. IMHO, it also depends on signal strength, which doesn't make sense. I live in PA (USA) the 3G coverage is very spotty. I noticed I get great speed if I have 3 or more bars. Anything less and speeds are not great. I took my phone to the beach in VA and it did much better, but still inconsistent. I think most problems lay with the carrier. Although the 2.0.2 patch did help reception. BTW, the bluetooth is only for a headset, no data transfer.
