  • @ukbatmania Does Madge Blake does make her a cameo appearance as Aunt Harriet Cooper in Season 3 I would think?

  • @ukbatmania Is Yvonne Craig replaced Madge Blake I would think?

  • one of the hit words should have been.............OWNED!

  • Itchy and Scratchy... and Poochie }=)

  • ohh gawds.... :D

Lately I have been writing some different things, which takes place in the 70s.

Back then, they ran the reruns of all the 1960s Batman show.

My sister and I got excited to lay front first in front of the old Tube, and watch the show.

I love idiotic Adam West today as well, as he's Mayor of Quahog Rhode Island. (Family Guy.)

    :D

I love watching for his boner, as there's a pretty girl present. LOL.

    ;)

  • anyone noticed at the very beginning of the video if u go to very beginning 0:0,1 way back there is a chick with purple outfit and a bat symbol on chest! lol HIDDEN FOOTAGE!

  • @Dennizjoon Yeah i think the guy who pointed it out 9 months ago and has top rated comment noticed.

  • @DeckyStrikesBack you dont say smartass,,

  • @robharding1957 Oh but I do! Look up! ^

  • @DeckyStrikesBack oh sorry didn't see the top comment, lol xD didn't think about it so much and I noticed it when I watched the vid over again the second time and were like WTF! xD

  • @Dennizjoon lo, sorry man I was only kidding around! :)

  • from a time when things were hard to remember,,,,,especially lyrics to a song,,never the less this was great for us kids back in the mid 60s,,

  • pow bong!

  • is the BGM really singing "batman" ?

  • Im 15 and i watch this with my dad

  • SOCK

  • I like it when bat girl cockblocks the batmobile

  • There was a comment from a tv show critic that said.... this show was so bad "it was brilliant".

    100%.

  • This intro pwns Spiderman

  • First Grade Lessons!

  • Whoever wrote the theme was a lyrical genuis.

  • I love it when batgirl comes in and cock blocks the bat mobile

  • Happy Birthday Adam West!

  • "Adam We-? Who is Adam We?"

  • spidermans 60s song pwns batmans.

  • Like

  • However hard I try, I still cannot listen to this without Del and Rodney popping into my brain!!!

  • This is the corrected version. The first time batgirl was incorporated into the beginning animation sequence, she swung the other direction and the villain she kicked was only knocked back with a "pow" logo appearing over the face, the editors did not catch on right away, the batgirl character ended her swing with her butt covered by the same logo. This was only shown once in 1968. - I have never seen it again.

  • Ha! Look at robin fading away from the bat-logo.

  • 15 persons didn't understood the lyrics...

  • selling a 1966 batman ceramic bank in great condition, anyone interested?

  • @chazmoney3 trade ya for an original major matt mason astronaut.

  • @dynagravitomagnetic would of loved to trade ya, but already sold it unfortunatly.

  • @dynagravitomagnetic would u sell that? and if so how much?

  • OMG what memories !!! my sister always wanted to watch "The Invaders" -- lol I wanted to watch this .......

  • WIFF...POOF..OOF!!!

  • What always has amused the heck out of me was the "batgirl theme" song she had while riding her bike to go fight crime - LAME - refer to Batgirl theme song - ala youtube

  • hahaahahahahahahaah XD

  • I watched this religiously xD

  • O_O

  • 15 people thought the lyrics were were hard to remember

  • WHAAAM - OFFFF - PUMMMMM

  • 1990's animated series is better! 1960's show is absolutly NOTHING like the original comics!

  • @ThePizzadude93 You've obviously never read a single comic from the 40s, 50s or 60s - the comics were WAY camper than this. They had spaceships, rainbow monsters and wizards; this TV series is positively restrained in comparison.

  • I use to get so happy when at the end Batgirl would come riding across the screen. The sound of the bike and all would get me hype.Miss those days.

  • @hyperdog67 Me too! Watching reruns, I always waited for the "kick" instead of Batman's second punch. Happy day when "Batgirl" made an appearance!

  • those sound effects really cracks up the intro xD

  • Can someone send us the lyrics ?

  • @maiconmzp xD hahah!!!

  • I liked Batgirl, it's a shame she didn't save the series

  • Pause the video and hold 0

    Zomg secret

  • @Scrapari oh snap

  • This song can't get out my mind.

    BATMAAAAN !

  • The new batman movies sucks!

This show is 10 times better

  • @moviefan4448

    What about the Joker?

  • BONG! You have to have one to watch THIS show!

Once the fight sequences start, take one hit and you'll FEEL the Bams, Splats, Oofs, and every sound effect in between!

  • This vas rubbish

  • Wow we've come a long way havent we.....

  • Adam West insists that the theme song does not have any vocals, but Neil Hefti says that the lyric "batman" is sung along with the horn section on the song. I gotta go with Neil on this one.

  • This kills anything batman related nowdays.

  • I have been watching the episodes that I have recorded of this show all over again with "The Adventures of Superman". Now there are two shows that go great together!

  • Anyone have the lyrics to the song?

  • @thomamp

Geese Louise! I have no idea what the lyrics to this show are. All I hear is Batman over and over again.

  • Deliciously Cheesy! Greatest show EVER! And the movie? Shit how can you go wrong with exploding sharks and Bat-Shark Repellent! Adam West at his finest :D

"Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb"

  • ROBINS HOT!!!

  • @qwertyuiopasdfgh22 hes old as george washington now haha

  • @1georgiafan ahah

  • Adam West will forever be the real Batman, all the others are just cheap copies

  • I just recently met my childhood idol Adam West at a Comic Con here in Atlanta.... I was blabblin' like a 12 yr old girl... And I'm a 35 yr old man!!! Still was very cool though! :)

  • Mazedaar ! Nostalgic.

  • 12 people disliked this because they are guys from :16 to :19

  • @Movin2Elite

    m 20 i still love it.. :|

  • I love this intro! I used to love to watch this show when I was a kid.

  • when I saw Yvonne's name, I almost thought it was the Ellison(?) who was that singer in Jesus Christ Superstar ;-)

  • this show is now on the hub at like 5:00 in the morning.

  • One write-up on Batman said that in the first season, the show stayed on the rather fine line between suspense and comedy,ut durring Year 2 it was comedy and Year 3 was unviewable after the first time.(Remember there weren't even any network rerums after Year 3.)

"If I really want to ogle Yvonne Craig I'll catch reruns of Dobie Gillis,Man from Uncle,My Three Sons,Mod Squad or whatever else she guested in during the '60s."

(Maybe, but where else could he see her in that costume?)

  • @RJRanke That's very true. After the abrupt cancellation of the series in March 1968, the last episode aired on the 14th and ABC didn't even have the decency to air summer reruns (they did with Dozier's other series, The Green Hornet). A whole lot of shows aired in Batman's former time slot but they all bombed.

  • man i use to love this. it was soo cheesy that is was good. i remember getting excited when batgirl was in the opening credits.

  • Always liked the Batgirl season! It was that season the late great Eartha Kitt was Catwoman & she did it purr-fectly!

  • 0:00 batgirl

  • "Why so serious?"

"Because your felonious and fiendish plot is no laughing matter, Joker!"

"Batman, what the fuck are you talking about?"

"Your dastardly deeds, Joker, they end right with this! *POW! WHOOSH!* Now where's my chum Robin?"

"Oh, Robin, hmm, yes, turns out he can't fly after all."

"Well let's just see if you can float, Joker, because you're going down the river!"

    *WHAM! BOOM!*

  • Robin gets all of the girls and Batman doesn't in this series.

  • when l was 8 this was my life,l used to leave sunday service early so l wouldnt miss the impending doom awaiting batman and robin, the next instalement always made me happy they survived their death defying feats, great fun when your a kid and believing it all,,l used to run to school with my duffle coat held by the top button trail;ing behind me like batmans cape,,,,,l must have looked a proper pleb,

  • I wish they still had re-runs on FX

  • @newjackrulez420 I still believe ABC moved too quickly in cancelling this show back in 1968, as it still had a lot of life left in it despite the many cost-cutting measures of the third season.

  • @jsrosa1282 As a comics fan I'm kind of glad this show didn't go beyond 1968, in 1969-1970 DC Comics thanks to Denny O' Neil and Neal Adams were trying to beyond this show and bring Batman back to his original roots. This show would have been an albatross around the neck of the Batman comics overtime IMHO.

  • @cha5 Also, ABC network politics played a part in the show's cancellation midway through the 1967-68 season. They wanted to save on the budget by having Robin and Chief O'Hara killed off and making Barbara Gordon/Batgirl be Bruce Wayne's wife/Batman's permanent partner. However, William Dozier and Adam West vetoed the idea. ABC responded by immediately cancelling the series.

  • @jsrosa1282 Really?!? geez I've never heard anything about all that :O

I'm glad Adam West and Dozier put the kibbosh on that plan.

    What a F. U. B. A. R. idea on ABC's part.

  • I love the drum roll just before the first "Batman!"

    Shug-a-dugga-doog-a-dugga!

  • this has to be the best tv theme ever, name one that's as good

  • As a kid, I really didn't like Batgirl, But as an adult, Man she had awesome lil curves !!

  • Batgirl ruins everything hahaha

  • it was actually used in 1968 until 1969. the show lasted from 1966-1969.

  • @jgknightboyz2000 Actually, the show ran for three seasons, from 1966 to 1968, not 1969. ABC abruptly cancelled Batman in February 1968 due to the frequent budget overruns. NBC was interested in picking the show up for the 1968-69 season, which would have been its fourth. However, the Peacock Network declined to take it because the Batcave and Wayne Manor sets were no longer available for use - the ABC brass ordered them destroyed immediately after the cancellation.

  • @jsrosa1282 that's where your wrong, pal. 1966-1967 would be the first season. then 1967-1968 would be the second season, and 1968-1969 would be the third season. so the show ended in 1969.

  • @jgknightboyz2000 No I don't believe so, because according to The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows: 1946-present, 8th edition, the first telecast of Batman was January 12, 1966, and all sources I've looked at say the show was a midseason debut. It was originally going to debut in fall of '66 but ABC moved it forward to a January premiere. And according to the same book, the last telecast was March 14, 1968, with the episode "Minerva, Mayhem and Millionaires."

  • @jsrosa1282 well then the book is wrong, my friend. my logic makes more sence.

  • The best part of the lyrics is when they say "Batman!"

  • @reivenlocke my only regret is that wasn't a second verse!

  • 0:08, "BONG!"

  • In 0:00 is catwoman having sex

  • @RoxaZX No...far from it. That very brief snippet you see at 0:00 is of Batgirl, tied up by the villains once again. The clip is from the season 3 episode "The Joke's on Catwoman," which originally aired on January 4, 1968. Batgirl was trying to depart in her Batgirlcycle but the Joker and Catwoman stole her spark plug! Their minions then tied her up in "cat's whiskers," designed to gradually strangle her to death. Luckily, Batgirl found a way to escape!

  • @jsrosa1282

Nah, she's having sex. I can tell :D

  • @RoxaZX YES!!

  • This theme was show catchy that it could make you bleed your brains out.

  • Batman batman batman batmaaaaaaaaaan

  • Family, this used 2 b my favorite tv program. I even watched it when I wuz in the 7th grade from December 5th,1983-December 8th,1984.

  • i used to love this theme, i'd run around the house singing it

  • The theme song was done by The Who.

  • The vocals: a strange yet wonderful melding of trumpets and female voices.

  • oberbehinder ..deeo duuu deaaauu

  • Those were Adam West's glory days. More than 40 years later, he is the mayor of Quahog in Family Guy.

  • best!!

  • 0:44

  • I was born 5 yrs later after the incarnation of the 60's TV classic in 1971. I've seen every re-run! I loved the opening theme to Batman back then and loved when at the end of the opening theme of the show you would see Batgirls motorcycle speed across the screen and you would know she would be in the episode! I remember that as early as when I was 5 yrs old! The memories are very faint but yet still remember the couple of second flashes in my past early mind being excited! Batgirl is the HOT!!

  • Cool!

  • Damn, those singers could hold a note! I love the way they ended the last "Batman!" note.

  • Love it! It has my whole early childhood!

  • epic !!

  • Can anyone please tell me what the spinning red thing at the start is? Been viewing Batman for 30 years and never worked it out. Looks like a spinning tire on the series batmobile.

  • Comment removed

  • @chewie211171

It's the Batman logo in red instead of black!

  • I saw dat on tv a few years ago

  • That was a nice swing kick from Batgirl!

  • I like it where they coloured Batgirl's suit is blue. But it is more comfortable where it is Purple.

  • I used to love this show when I was growing up.Me and my mom sittin in the living room together ....I miss those days!!

  • @diapertom2001 & how old r u?

  • LOL, what a horrible way to copy and paste Batgirl into the intro. It's like Batman and Robin don't even acknowledge her in it.

  • Awesome tv show. All the crap they make nowadays.

  • Comment removed

  • lol.

  • There is no singing in this theme song. The word "Batman" is simply the sound of the trumpets playing. Sketch.

  • Those are SINGERS. They had a reunion on t.v. a few years back and did the Batman theme live. How the hell do you think the word,"Batman" is coming from a trumpet? Dim-wit.

  • People don't realize that it aired twice a week for one half hour. The series length just seems a little longer than it actually was.

  • Batman ran 3 seasons 1966-1967=1 1967-1968-2 1968-1969 = 3

  • this was 1968-1969 intro

  • I'm sorry but your wrong about the intro..Batman ended in March of '68. This is the only intro from '67-'68.

  • this show is one of the greatest show of all time, despite its pretty campy, its cultural influense is bigger then any other.

  • i agree, a dvd-box would be awesome

  • Memo to 20TH CENTURY FOX:

Please bring this great television series to DVD. We Bat-fans have waited for almost a decade for this to come to DVD. Well ever since its movie was released onto DVD is about the same time we've waited for this series to be available on DVD. Trust me FOX, as a Bat-fan, I know that this will sell once released onto DVD.

  • agreed!! i miss this show!

  • Cuantos recuerdos de mi infancia!!! Ojalá hubieran hecho más temporadas y no sólo tres. Larga vida a Adam West, Burt Ward e Ivonne Craig

  • Holy throwback,Batman!Good job!

  • i agree.good OLD times

  • As a boy, the part where they are both running toward you, ready to kick some criminal ass, would just blow my mind. It seemed soooooooo powerful as an image.

  • Wow, Im so glad that I see people who actually like the 60s batman, I get tired of people who hate it just because hes not driving the tumbler... and yes it is mind blowing :)

  • can anyone please tell me what the spinning thing is at the start? is it the wheels of the batmobile???

  • This theme,among many other things,make me a 60sophile!

  • Does anyone ever get tired of hearing this great opening ? Pure genius!

  • it's the hypnotic background music.

  • I loved...LOVED this intro when I was a little boy. I STILL love it. I love watching Batgirl come into the intro :o)

  • love the "Bong" reference at :07. HA!

  • Funny....I always thought it said "BOING," but looked back at it, and did see "BONG". How could I have been so wrong all these years??
