  • alot of the candles i make at home, i do them exactly as you did and i have a problem with them sinking in the middle. do you ever have this problem and if so what can i do to prevent sinking?

  • great videos thanks

  • what type of wax do you use and where did you get it =]?

  • Hi, I like your candle making video. I have been wanting to make candle myself but this video makes it look really easy. Where do you get your scents from? Are they specific just to candle making? Is that regular food coloring you are using that you would use in baking? Last, where do you get your wax and wicks, etc., from, a craft store? Sorry these are such simple quetions, but I know zero about candle making except that I have an interest in it. Thanks.

  • I like the TV (or is it a radio?) playing in the background as this video is going. The background sound gives the demo a homelike feel. Not so cold or sterile seeming.

  • I like this video it was cool

  • I love it; I love how effortless you do this and with not a lot of precise measuring like you've got it down to a science. I want to get into candle making as well.

  • you can make your own wicks better than buying ready made

  • Good Job

  • I love watching ur videos. I have been making candles for a few months and I buy scents from TN candle Scents, I have tried soy and parrafin and no matter if I put alot of scent or a little its not smelling the way they should. I have tried all wicks, containers, I have added scent while its very hot or when its cooler. I need ur expertise on when to add scent and what Im doing wrong. Ur candles r so pretty. U do an awesome job. Thanks Hope

  • could you float your jars in an ice bath to make the wax cool faster? or would that make the jars crack?

  • I think this is a great videos to show how to make candles for people who never have done it before.Very precise and straight down to business. I like it. She is really good. I love her glue gun, quite stylish i would love to know the brand. Also she make it look so easy to do it...Thank you very much for this video, i just can't wait to try make a candle myself.. Thumbs up..

  • how do you clean out the wax left after pouring before starting a new scent?

  • where do you buy the wax?

  • What type of wax do you guys use? And also what type of wicks?

  • She was sort of nasty... doesnt get burn time question.. but it was still interesting.

  • wonderful, what type of wax do you use? You all remind me of my roots down home in Mississippi. keep doing your thing!

  • You can buy big blocks of wax at you local hobby store (like Michaels) but there are cheaper sources. Particularly in LA, NY, Newark, etc where there are wholesaler supplies for cheaper. I wouldn't use the same pot for cooking as with the wax as eventually some wax will find its way into the boiler through condensation. Since the video poster is using a minimum of water in her boiler her melting pot will likely sink with the weight of the wax.....if you use a larger boiler clamp the pot down.

  • where can i purchase a big block of wax and what kind are you using?

  • you shud have put half way up red then let it dry then put green on the other half

  • do u just sell em when ur done?

  • @louloueeze quit your bitching

  • I really enjoyed the video. It was very helpful. Thank you.

  • candles burn about 80 to 100 hours

  • that depends on the type of wax, size of wick and amount of scent you add.

  • where can i get my wax block anp melting pots and die for cheap can i find at thrift store

  • when that dude on tv said rascal flatts i was like ''oh my god i love them'' and totally forgot to pay attention to the candle making lol

  • This lady has a really bad attuidte and is working really fast. Thanks to the camera man who tried to explain what she was doing. Nice video, but try to be nice about it.

  • thank you I learn more in this video than any other one very help full.

  • hi

    i love them!!!

where do you get the wax, coloring, and scent for the candles??

    :)

  • @gracielaespinoza you can get it at hobby lobby if you have one near you just go to the websit to look around helpful to me

  • I just got all of the candle making suppiles for Christmas today!! IM SO EXCITED and I have watched this video like 10 times cuz it gets me all EXCITED!! WAHOO!!

  • looks like you guys are bout to cook some meth

  • @Backwoodsboy350 ya, you would know..

  • Why doesn't my candle smell. I use about half a small oil bottle and a average size candle and than i cant smell it.

  • @MsNotforsale it cause they did it wrong you are supost to put the sent in when you up it in the jar

  • @love0fesha0love Thanks i have been putting it in the pan with the wax, but i'm suppose to put it in the jar. Thank you because i didn't know that.

  • In New Jersey a place called AC more, I know the wa block is like 20 dollars and sent is about 3to 5 dollars depends on the size. But you know how epensive it is here in NJ.

  • whats that big white thing at the beginning of the vid??

  • wax

  • Raw candel wax.

  • Thank you so much for making this video. I have been wanting to learn how to make candles and now I know how thanks to you. :) When I can get all the stuff...I'm going to make some candles.

  • I went to this website and i saw nothing about candles.

  • where does she buy that big bolk of wax?

what kind of wax is it?

  • I want a strawberry scented candle. D:

  • Thank you so much on showing this video & a BIG "THANK YOU" to your husband for asking the questions that need to be asked. I may try this & give them as gifts this holiday.

  • How do you know how much scent to pour. Sometime i use a whole bottle and i still cant smell it when i light it.

  • cool.

  • great video..

  • This is an awesome video!!!!

    Great Job!!!!

  • ive made candles before ... soon im puttin up the vid.. my cam been havin some probs

  • I'm sorry but there is so much more to making candles then just melting wax and pouring into containers. If you don't care how your candle burns or if it will actually have a scent then just slap whatever together and pour but if you want to make a good candle then there is a lot more to it then what this video shows.

  • Its cheaper to just buy them made! Only time I make them is when I get lots of short candles I recycle the wax. Still cheaper to buy them!

  • Thats not the appeal. People may just want to make them for the heck of it. Like me.

  • Thank you guys so much!!! I have been wanting to try this for years, but I'm a chicken. AFter seeing this video..I am excited and looking forward to doing this.

    Thanks again.

  • Ended up finding out wax at Hobby Lobby, their kind of a big store, like Michaels...found the wicks there too.

  • where do u get the wick's from and the wax? and to put scent into the wax can u just put some perfume in there? haa idk

im so new to this. please reply back.

    thnx :)

  • Where did you buy your wax? My wife and I are having a hard time finding a local store that sells blocks. We are thinking of using non-canning mason jars with handles that we found at the dollar store. Do you prefer paraffin wax or soy wax? Have any pros or cons to either?

  • It's funny kev this video shows more than any other on youtube about actually making candles. e.i. more action less talk is very helpful.

  • Why use hot glue when your just goign to pur hot wax into that container. I recommend putty or a heat resistant adhesive. Also the smaller the pieces of wax cut up, the much quicker it will melt.

  • Also, where can i get the pot with the handle on it. I couldnt find one at wal-mart. maybe they were just out or is there somewhere else i should look. Thanks

  • Wouldnt the pot in the water float? or does it get held down when the wax is put in?

  • When you put the wax in the inner pot, it will sink in the water.

  • your wife doesn't sound to exicted about being filmed! haha

  • something cool to do to start a fire is to get some birthday candles and crush them up put them in a beer cap hold a flame under it until it melts then put the wick in the middle of the cap, wait til it sets put it under your tinder light it. i've used them while i was camping and they work good

  • does the wax ruin the pot its melted in or can you just wash it?

  • It ruins the pots. No food products can be put in the pots after putting wax in them.

  • Thanks and keep the good vids coming!(and yes i am a member on the website)

  • I've never heard that before. What kind of wax do you use? I use pure bees wax and it cleans out quite nicely witch a bit of boiling water.

  • great video. I would have thought she was filling them to high. I thought the wax would expand see what I know

  • why not make multi coulered striped candels, put a third red let it set, then a third white and let it set, the a third blue. you could make loads of different ones.

  • This is a great video! I actually have a few questions, where can you pick up an entire block of wax with all the scents? My other question is, I see that you have the double broiler going on so the bottom pot can still be used for food, but what about the pot used for melting the wax? Does your wife use the same pot for candles and only candles because of the risk of cross contamination or is the wax not that hard to clean out?

  • Visit the website and we can go into detail about making candles.

  • its good for projects
