He also has only been in the majors for like 3 years so we'll see how long his arm holds up. Even if Tim goes through his career without any major injury, he is an exception. One of the reasons the balls going in there at 95-98 is his stride. I read somewhere that the average stride length is like 80% of your body length (not sure on that) but his stride is 113%. Instead of a strait out stride, he has a super-wide arch counter-clockwise and doesnt allow his left foot to land.

well mechanics are mechanics, but as a pitcher for tim its different because of his frame. hes not that thick and has decent height , thats all that goes for him size wise..but to go along with his size and the ability to throw the power pitches he does, he uses full body flexibility..arm and hip separation and complete follow-through, to his advantage. lastly, his numbers definitely say enough and Im glad baseball still can depened on talent like his to keep it goin. Great mechanics. Scouts always shy away from power pitchers with small frames because of their propensity to have arm problems. On the other hand, a guy like Mark Prior is on the DL every year whereas a guy like Mariano Rivera is always healthy. There seems to be more of a correlation between poor mechanics and arm problems.
