Pitching is not all about arm! it's also torso and core delivery, if you can position your body in right twist and turn the arm throw just come in second! that's a fact!
tonester54 you dnt pitch like him. you just copied him. its impossible to pitch exactly like him. Your a wanna be have the same number. i can understand the pants most pitchers now a days have long extension pants. but trying to pitch like him an have his number, you wanna be known like that make your own damn name.
This guys an amazing pitcher. But dont try to steal his mech. itll just hurt you. Develope natural mechanics and then tweak them when you develop problems.
@djjulianpowell Yeah and just more young pitchers will develop injury problems. It is not recommended that young pitchers learn how to pitch like Lincecum. He also has only been in the majors for like 3 years so we'll see how long his arm holds up. Even if Tim goes through his career without any major injury, he is an exception. Don't pitch the same way as "The Freak"!
Wow all you haters cant be serious about him being a bad role model for being caught smoking weed once.
If you really think that less than 99.999% of professional athletes havn't smoked weed at least once before then you really need to get in the reality of life.
So what he got unlucky and caught once, WHO CARES doesnt means hes a pot head. Hes a great pitcher and a lot more successful than any of you.
ok so before he winds up he has his foot off the rubber then at the start of the wind up he puts his right foot on the rubber almost or parallel to the rubber?(i play baseball and im trying to STEAL his mechanics)
One of the reasons the balls going in there at 95-98 is his stride. I read somewhere that the average stride length is like 80% of your body length (not sure on that) but his stride is 113%. Instead of a strait out stride, he has a super-wide arch counter-clockwise and doesnt allow his left foot to land.
all I can say is that I'm glad the Giants are SO much better than last season's hot mess. Last year, can you say an old team who couldn't adjust to Bonds not being there? I bet they were all thinking "wait, now we actually HAVE to generate the offense? Um, Ray, Bengie, can you do that? We can't rely on Aurillia. One good year in 14 years doesn't say anything"
are u stupid connor he ccan play on the yankees the yanks need a pitcher if they dont get holladay they might get him dude yanks offer more money to him idiot
well mechanics are mechanics, but as a pitcher for tim its different because of his frame. hes not that thick and has decent height , thats all that goes for him size wise..but to go along with his size and the ability to throw the power pitches he does, he uses full body flexibility..arm and hip separation and complete follow-through, to his advantage. lastly, his numbers definitely say enough and Im glad baseball still can depened on talent like his to keep it goin. GO BRUINS!
dodgers own the whole league but i gotta say that lincecum is one of the best in the game and he's only 24 years old. this guy's gonna be around for a while..
im sure he will befine cause i have seen him warm up in person in front row seats and when he puts his arm down he is not putting any torque on his arm and he is going srtight over the top
OMG i want the yankees to buy that stud, i want to see him pitch more, but he pitches so much and so hard and for so long am i the only one worried that thats not the best thing for him?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Hes a good pitcher. But he does pitch in the NL West which is one of the worst offensive divisions in baseball. He played the Mets last night and gave up 6 earned runs.
You have to ask the question why are there so many good pitchers in the NL WEST. you have webb, haren, peavy, lincecum, billingsley...etc.. To me this more about a division that cant hit.
Look at Johan Santana. Now thats a special pitcher. Has to face good hitting teams and has a 0.78 era.
johan santana is good. but lincecum is better. look at the dadgers this year. one of the best teams in the mlb and he can still be them. and he sf doesnt have the best d either.
i see what ur saying but he still won the cy young and the mlb definetly knows that he's in a weak NL west. i think he'd have similar success in any division, not to mention that he's still practically a teenager
The entire team doesn't do good against the Mets. The Mets can hit. That's just one team. Go look at his numbers against other teams. Go see what he's accomplished throughout the year and a half.
Johan Santana's team can field which is why he has a low era. Lincecum is the best pitcher in baseball and proved it last season.
Wrong. He proved he was the best pitcher in baseball for last season. I want to see him do it over his entire career. I really do, i like him, but most pitchers these days seem to have one good season then flop off. Kind of sad. Remember Mark Prior? Keen example.
He's not going to be perfect over his entire career like every other great pitcher so you can't expect that from him. He has accomplished far more than other veteran pitchers have. Tim Lincecum is not your ordinary pitcher and I'm not the only one who will say that.
what takes longer to run from 1st base to 2nd base or from 2nd base to third base. the answer is from 2nd base to third base because there is a shortstop in the middle. you get it short stop
Besides Lincecum, the one who got more applauses was Omar Vizquel, and that is something to be proud of being Venezuelan like him. Hes a living leyend.
