I love Rose McGowan. And I love Sarah Brightman. The 2 together? Legendary. Remember the original Red Sonja movie from the '80s? It was ok, but a bit tame. Hoping this redeems the legend.
I can't wait to see Robert Rodriguez's take on this film, while teaming up with his muse for now, Rose McGowan. Rodriguez is a good director, so it will be interesting to see.
dont think rose looks like a bimbo she looks right for the movie and she did that series with the 3 witches to charmed i believe she didnt look like a bimbo there so she can pull it of i always though she looked kinda exotic:) but amber would be good i think she would pull of the i want to look vicious part slightly better but i stil prefur rose for the part she fits better overal

@panderson1985 This character has been upgraded to multiclass. Warrior/Pornstar has to be at least worth the transition from book to movie. Maybe that's just me. Your outlook is loyal to the book and I like that. Not one Tarzan movie ended in a Wisconsin forest fire.... You'd think, right? .. anyway. This artwork is stunning and very bold. They really produced some fantastic images.. Seriously, wow.

@Rarez2 funny that - I think it does. You need a good actress to play a good character. Now if you want just something nice to look at, you're obviously looking for the wrong film. If that is the case, go watch some porn where the acting is not really that important.
@panderson1985 a warrior should look like a warrior, not a runway model. Red Sonja is supposed to beat up men all the time. They need to cast someone with an athletic figure for the role to be believable.

Sonja doesn't have to use steroids and she doesn't have to look like Conan. She just has to look fit, like an athlete. But a thin actress with absolutely no muscle tone does not look like she is someone who picked up a sword.
Her boobs are not big enough for the movie...Red Sonja is supposed to be a big breasted red haired barbarian chick that swings a big sword, it doesn't aim for classy Oscar movie. Why mess around with the concept? Better if movie doesn't come out if it's gonna be like this. Haven't said anything about her acting (but acting skill shouldn't be important for a movie like this in the first place).
That's like some woman with small tits playing in a movie about Pamela Anderson, I mean why the hell?

Dude Red Sonja is a WARRIOR not a porn star!
Her Physique is not that important. Rose can play a beautiful and mysterious woman which I think would be REALLY good for the character.
And I think the whole "lick the sword" is to show her as a strong character who enjoys the battle...
You people really should learn to look BEYOND the image!
