  • there are people out there who are taking the responsibilty for the rich parts of the worlds actions. the main reason for poverty is unfairly spread wealth. there are people with billions and people with nothing , its normal people too but if that money wasnt spent on footballers and movie stars who dont give most of it away like a good person would then this will continue. it is disgusting that they can live with themselves , this is not what God put us on this earth for

  • For those who are critisizing MDGs: I dont know what is the best for this planet, but at the momment MDGs seem promising.Independently from our different political viewpoints, faiths, believes, cultures etc I would argue that we are in this world to experience Love and Freedom. The project MDG's is a way to gain this experience. That is to say, being active is not about them but about myself, my family, neighbourhood, culture, city, country, continent etc We ll find out soon what the best 4 us is.

  • Last sunday in basel there was the 3 day of mdg's.Me and our class were there.it was in a theater and all the people who came we shocked

with examples that they know how it is in the

poor countries.I took the thema equal rights

for women. And there were men who just

shouted that discrimination doesn't exists anymore. So people speak about the mdg's.Tell it all your friends and familys.I never met someone who knew what it is.I'm disappointed about how few people are interested about the mdg's!

  • absolutely love this video even though it made me cry like a baby, but i was wondering from which year is ur statistics from?

  • Achieving these goals is hard if every one will not help each other.....

  • 1. AIDS will not disappear as long as black people act in a premiscious way;

    2. education will not be universal as long as black people burn down / break down schools;

    3. societies run by blacks become like Haiti - built up three times by whites, broken down (even before the earthquake) bythe blacks living there.

  • that it the most racist thing I've ever heard.

you should be ashamed in yourself.

    1) i guarantee that if you were illiterate and couldnt afford condoms that you too would still continue doing it, hence AIDs would still be a problem

    2) if your family could barely afford to eat, im certain they wouldnt be able to afford schooling and you would have to stay at home and help on the farms to produce food that you can afford

  • @abbymichelle1220 You obviously do not live in a country run by a black government. They have families that they cannot feed because they do not practice the concepts of responsibility and accountability. The Apartheid government did more to uplift the black than any other organisation. In 1960 South Africa had 10 universities; the rest of Sub-sahara only 10, and the Congo only 17 people with degrees. 85% of vehicles owned by blacks were blacks in South Africa. they also broke down Zimbabwe.

  • @abbymichelle1220 You should google / youtube ZIMBABWE and see how the blacks destroyed their own good country. also: "Revolution in South African schools" show how the pests burnt down their own schools during Apartheid - and they have no better up north! The truth about Africans will set them free.

  • 3) it is far from the "blacks" fault that people are in extreme poverty, instead it is people like YOU who are too ignorant to actually care about them people.

    Im disgusted.

  • @abbymichelle1220 My family has done more than your family, but, like in Haiti (before the quake), Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Burundi ... they broke down everything. zimbabwe was the bread basket of Africa, now the Blacks are far, far worse off. They will always be dependant - just like children. So, give up your citizenship and go live under a black government in Sub-Sahara and who us how you get Africa out of its low human development ... LOL LOL LOL.

  • there is a saying:

Give me a fish and I eat for a day

teach me to fish and I eat for a lifetime...

we need to teach them to fish and fast!

  • @TheDudeWithShoes In my experience in countries run by black governments, the bloke that does the fishing will earn some money, and the government will take it away, as happened in Zimbabwe.

  • i believe in natural selection....

  • Nurses, as the forefront of healthcare, should stand and take the lead in the achievement of UN MDGs particularly MDG 4,5,6.

  • Attend the Orphans and Vulnerable Children Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa from 31 October to 3 November 2010.

  • USA should assume its responsability

  • Sure. And I'm a member of the Bavarian Illuminati. 23

  • If you REALLY care about helping poor people, donate through private charity! Then only people who wish to give their money out of kindness and charity can give. DO NOT support these millennium goals, which, if passed, FORCE people who don't wish to be involved to pay anyway.

  • superb marvellous

  • at least they try to change something! so what does your pessimism fix?

  • pathetic. who would "trust" someone, stating all germans are fascists?

  • Thanks for writing your 20 paged essay on youtube....btw if your referring to me as a german, then that just shows you how retardedly ignorant you are. I'm not German you dumbfuck

  • Well, ..hum. I think we can change our little own world, but if we have the possibility, or would have the possibility, to change more things; we should do something and don't wait for others to improve the world.

  • OMG....Seriously the U.N. has no power. They are not into this new world order conspiracy. The U.N. can't even get Sudan to cooperate and that is one of the worlds poorest countries. If they can't handel Sudan and the African Union, they certantly can't handle the world. So get over the fascism because even if the U.N. really wanted it... they will never get it because they have no power.

  • In the UK there is a consensus to meet the commitment of 0.7% of 1% of Gross National Income for overseas aid. While awareness should be raised to maintain this commitment it seems that we should do more to be involved personally in this effort. Sponsorship for gap year volunteering for developing world service might be a good start. Over 20 years this would promote greater involvement of a generation.

  • I completely agree with toadfish123abc.... WE are the key to the future

  • i think this is a good video and it shows about the 8 millennium goals and how we need to change the world because this is happening right here right now !!!!

  • Im writing my thesis about the MDGs. Its good to find stuffs about it.. Even if only in English. Hm, we all gotta speak English well.

  • Yeah, you gotta speak English well. You can join my group on youTube soldiers for MDGs which could be of great help to you.

  • Thanks! these video is really good I even used for an introduction in a prodject about the united nations

  • You most welcome. We can be soldiers to achieving the 2015 objectives by helping work around the goals and disseminate the right information to people in our local communities.

  • Wow, thank you for the great video. I used it in class to introduce the concept of the millenium goals to my students. Great job!

  • Thanks. stay tune and make sure you visit and join the group-''Soldiers for MDGs''.

  • Gotta love the sappy song.....= ]

  • you guyz r n00bz. the un is gay

  • The UN.. what a bunch of criminals they are..

  • Edgy, dude.

  • we need to stop fighting, it brings us around in pointless circles!take your knowledge and apply it to a way to help others less fortunate than yourself! And never forget the blessings you have in your life, never forget that there are people in the world who have it worse that you! If your homeless in a developed country at least you can stick your head under a faucet and get a drink of water, in underdeveloped countries you drink the same water you wash yourself in! All I'm saying is reach out

  • achieving these goals isn't just about a charity and giving money to organisations. It is about working together and taking action.

  • Its the same talk all over again. It is easy to identify the problems. Lots of ppl are engaged and lots of money is beeing used?

What is the solution to all this? Partnership? Thats all they could come up with? what really happens? What is their work based upon? UN are ignorant to satisfying real need in the world. NGOs and bank cant solve the worlds problems. Only politicians in the respective country

  • The ONLY problem facing humanity today is overpopulation. Uneducated 3rd world locusts destroying and leaving deserts in their wake.

People open your eyes. You cant educate them, you cant humanize them.

    They will destroy the world.

  • theres nothing that indicates that the world is beeing over pupulated :S where did u get that from? Theres is a lack of distribution of food product and capital due to the wealth of a minority.(and exploatation of the 3rd world) You seem to have a very poor view of human life and its worth.

  • Nothing to indicate overpopulation? Are you kidding? How about global endangerment of nearly every large land mammal, overharvesting of every large ocean food fish to the point that they are not commercially viable. Etc etc.

Yeah, the wealth of the minority. Thats code for "fuck whitey" from communist brown people.

  • "You cant educate them, you cant humanize them. They will destroy the world".

And I'm sure you're above this? Especially when there are 3rd world people trying their best to get out of that circumstance? That there are some intelligent, "humanized" 3rd world people? The irony about your comment that they are destroying this world and yet the way you said it is that of a generalization about them; which is also known to be destroying thw world. But you disregard that and these people, did you?

  • Above this? Its obvious you dont know what Im talking about. Take a trip and see the squalor of africa firsthand and then come back to me and talk about it. Until then you are living in a dream world where all people are equal and they ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT! Its OK, I used to be ignorant like you until I saw the truth. P.S., Im a proud racist. Said it so you dont have to.

  • Saying I'm ignorant and yet you being proud being a racist and used to be ignorant is an oxymoron and leads to a negative. And in that case is the dream world of silly people who can't rationalize about people, but judging on a surface... And what are you talking about equality - I haven't said anything about my regards about it but finding fault in your opinion when it comes to 3rd world people; let alone not thought of you as a racist until you told me.

  • racism, intolerance. I never believed in good and evil. But sometimes I think. the only thing that is truely evil, is working against creation itself. and racism definetely is.

  • How is racism working against creation? If anything, mixing together into a hodge podge of fillipino looking niggers is definitely in all of our best interests. Oh yes, then everyone but the Jews would be a fucking destitute shitskin living in a mud and corrigated metal shack.

    Please tell me more.....

  • just wondering, are you a racist?

Because any american, any european, destroys much more than any of them.

  • you know i am a strong believer and supporter of peace and healing the world. but sometimes i can't help but wonder what would REALLY happen if AIDs disappeared, mothers and babies survived, we had enough resources...I think these issues are mother natures way of ensuring its balance between the human poplation and all other living organisms. But i still <3 humanity and i think one day we will overcome these problems, but we will be faced with many more (kinda sucks)

  • i going to make an affirmative statement by saying YES wa can achieve these goals. When we are doubtful or hesitant thats when the ladder towards change becomes broken. We need to change our mind set, be positive and see the world being full of abundance. Once we become aware or enlightened and work towards it. Positive thinking....positive results.

  • The name of the song is "overcome"

  • whutz da name of this song ?

  • Hey we're a group designed to raise awareness of the goals and to encourage people to act to ensure they're met. Feel free to add our channel! =]

  • Uh so what do you actually do? What does "raising awareness" mean?

  • Awareness creation is educating people in our local communities about the goals. communicating to them what we know and explaining to them efforts to be made as individuals, civil society, activist and politicians towards achieving the set goals.

  • um...i didn't say that we would reach these goals by 2015. These goals were set by the UN and are called the Millenium Development Goals. Member nations of the UN have agreed to work to achieve these goals by the year 2015.

  • That's Real Funny, You Think Will Reach Those Goals By The Year 2015? Ha Ha Ha With Today's World Being Money Driven And Selfish, I Mean Are Stupid Society's Worship Celebs Who Die To Be THIN, But There Is Starving 3rd World People Who Die Cause Of The Hunger In The Pit Of There Stomach......Face It Folks We Are Driving Ourselves To Hell!

  • whoops sorry posted it twice, anyway these goals are to be achieved by 2015

  • Goal 1: eradicate extreme poverty and hunger Goal 2: achieve universal primary education Goal 3: promote gender equality and empower woman Goal 4: reduce child mortality Goal 5: improve maternal health Goal 6: combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases Goal 7: ensure environmental sustainability Goal 8: develop a global partnership fpr development
  • Hahaha, thats rich.

  • Goal 1: eradicate extreme poverty and hunger Goal 2: achieve universal primary education Goal 3: promote gender equality and empower woman Goal 4: reduce child mortality Goal 5: improve maternal health Goal 6: combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases Goal 7: ensure environmental sustainability Goal 8: develop a global partnership fpr development
  • "WHAT IF" someone can give us a clear cut answer!

"what can we do together?" "together, how do we make the world a better place?" I want to make a difference in someones life!

  • "WHAT IF!?" a very powerful question or Statement? Well my question is what if? will our world be a better place? and if one is to make a statement "WHAT IF!" what would you be doing now? would you be doing anything different? To ask such a question or to make such a statement, once must first ask what are they willing to do about World Poverty, Hunger, AIDS Epidemic? and what are they willing to give up? Most people know the problems in the world! do we know the Cause? Do we know the solution?

  • pffffffffffffff

  • dude you're good.

    i posted it on facebook.

  • Lets do this for a better future, and convince the stupid George W. Bush to cooperate at least a little (which he actually never cares of nothing only himslef, hmph, that selfish guy..). Model Un Rox! For trying makes us a better future

  • what if usa help??????? y gw bush dont help????

  • familyguycrazyfan you are an ignorant fool. The U.S. gives billions of dollars of foreign aid every year to nearly every country on earth. And what do we get for it in return? Scorn. Because even though we give more than anyone else it's still not enough for the greedy, ungrateful, and lazy socialist countries.

  • peaople, dont think about the UN for a momemt and dont be rude saying: 'Shut the hell up'. Cant be much more egoistic that that mate. Its about helping all humans on earth. And if you dont like the UN, So what? Donate to another orginasation you know is doing this.

    Lets help all !!

  • what if you just shut the hell up???

  • its sad to say.. but its true... watch Zeitgeist on Google video, it all makes sense...

  • excellent presentation.

  • The Importance of achieving the MDGs can not be overstated. We have the resources and we got the technology... what we need now is the political will, and the willingness of ordinary people to achieve them! We can be the generation who eradicated extreme poverty and hunger, think about that! Success requires action not talk, however.

  • You guys can use the video converter to download this video.I think the converter for ipod will be helpful.

  • LEts help build a better future

  • how do i down load avideo

  • This has great concerns and all it takes is a click on: Get Involved on Borgen's page!!! What a shame...

  • Much more has to be done to address extreme poverty in the Philippines. Join our nonprofit organization's efforts to bring services to the poor communities. Join the Center for Community Work and People's Development in Manila.

  • Great video. I support the end of world poverty!

  • And...How do you think you can do that?

  • Good question. I haven't heard or thought of a good way to end to world poverty that the masses could agree to. I'd say it's as simple as each person donating to the less fortunate, but let's face it, we know much of the food donated around the world goes to waste before the needy can get any of it. Sometimes the goverment, like in Africa, won't even allow the food to be distributed from the docks because they have a political agenda.

  • I do my part to help those in my community through donations of food and money. The best way I can think to end world poverty is for others to do the same. I don't believe any government could stamp out hunger on their own anyhow. Too many agendas and too much "me, me, me" to ever get anything accomplished. I do believe it is worth resolving for the quality of life for all involved would be better. I don't know about you but I don't work well on an empty stomach.

  • Just throwing money at the problems won't solve it either. A hand out is not the same as a hand up. We have to get everyone fed, healthy, and active to rid ourselves of world poverty, world hunger, and world sufferning. No, I don't have the answers but I doubt anyone would disagree that we, as individuals, have to participate in resolving the problems. We are obligated, in ways we may never realize, to one another.

  • good, good, good, CP

  • Stand Up for the Millennium Goals on October 15-16!

  • and still people complain about themselves and there economic status
