  • WOW! I'm very intrested! Can you tell me what the steps are, I try a long time slover sudoku to me but I can not, if I know the steps might be?

    Thanks!

    LegoMind

  • with a brain like urs, u cud prolly do this in 20min haha.

    nice.

  • I am interested in the video processing part. What progam analyses the picture ? I wanted to try this beforebut failed (analyse a picture for sudoko)

  • thats cool

  • Very cool, all you need now is an nxt plotter to write down the answers!

  • I considered plotting the answers, but then I'm through all my Sudokus in 20 minutes...

  • Cool :) It's funny you go into the fuss of making an optical reader

  • Oh... My... Giddy... Aunt.

    Brilliant.

  • I just re-read my last comment and realized it sounded a little negative. I actually love this - I just want some documentation to geek out over.

  • Not bad - but what sort of AI algorithm is used for the solving? What language was used for the coding? What type of camera is that?

As much as I love the LEGO element of this, the programming side sounds more interesting. Can we get some source code?

  • You don't need an AI algortihm.

    Just brute force.

  • @bl0ckeduser No, brute force would take waaay to long to do. According to Peter Norvig having a million super computers with 10 GHz and 1024 cores each, you'd still only be 1% done after running these computers for 13 billion years (13.000.000.000 years) on a board wich has 4.6e38 possibilities for the whole puzzle.

See: Solving Every Sudoku Puzzle at norvig (dot) com/sudoku.html

  • would be nice if they turned it into a g1 app like the bar code scanner

  • I've written an iPhone app that does this - Sudoku Grab. There's a video of it in action somewhere on youtube.

I might look at porting it to Android if I get some time.

  • Lol, interesting to say the least

  • good .

  • Very interesting!

But it'd be better if the LEGO NXT solved the Sudokus... ;-)

  • You didn't see it solve?

That's what it's kinda coded for, recognizing and solving sodokus.
