I would think this was the first regular newscast on the BBC National Service after the invasion of Poland, but I would think that the BBC probably broke into regular programming to announce news of the invasion, and may also have carried (with translation) a speech Hitler made to the German parliament (that speech, with translation, also aired on the CBS, Mutual, and both NBC networks, "Red" and "Blue", in the U.S.).
@Elberiver11 we provoked second world war now laugh CZECHOSŁOWACJA annexation in 1938 is also POLES ? by whore you so what you re fucked it is sad that you teach this history in germany
@Elberiver11 Be thankful that Poland (Solidarity) DID provoke the fall of communism which facilitated in turn your "wall" to fall. Immediately after the "Round Table" in Warsaw(1989), K. Skubiszewski's govt. called for the re-unification of germany & Poland even helped evacuate Soviet troops from germany.
@cyrusapollo1 POLISH READ about the soldiers fougat on all fronts in world war 2 / monte casino, netherlands, france , africa and the battle of britain were among the best pilots and soldiers who polish with the soviets captured germany / berlin/ or a defensive war in 1939 /WIZNA /
If this is genuinely the early evening bulletin on 1st Sept 1939 then it would be the last ever bulletin on the 'national programme' as the national and regional programmes were merged to form the new 'BBC Home Service' that evening.

@Elberiver11 If you think a provocation to defend its independence and borders, then I agree with you.
