@issarveta bullshit. Anna Bessonova was a million times better and was always underscored. Kabaeva was the sloppy one who made silly mistakes all the time, and her apparatus handling was definitely not on the world level. Besides, i'm sure everyone got tired of Kabaeva's same facial expression in every routine. Her extreme back flexibility was the only good thing
hey u are supposed to do gymnastic starting from 4 or 5 - that's how its done in russia...older - u are not flexible enough and its about training and learning, 12 - is too old
I started RG at maybe 8 years old, but I improved a lot when I was 12... Now I can touch my thigh with my head, but when I was 11 I wasn't able to touch even my foot with my head... I've become flexible by training... :) Sure you can't go to the Olympics if you begin late, but you can still improve a lot... :) RG would be an entertainment too, not only a competitive sport... :)
!@MinnieLittleStar Argh! I meanyt to give your comment a thumbs up but clicked down by accident - so sorry! I agree gymnastics isn't all about the olympics, and because of that you can have fun with it at any age! :-)
@hanasita not flexible enough? i know a greandma who starts training (not rg, but gymnastics) when she was 40. she is so extremly flexible now, like a snake. it doesn`t care how old you are, if you are able to stand the pain and you take time to work with your body, you can reach everything you want to. You are not a stone if you are an adult.
She retired for the first time in 2004, when she was 21 (she was born in 1983), but she returned in 2005... But at the end of 2008 (when she was 25, I wrote wrong previously ^_^), she retired again, this time conclusively. :)
She was a little old for rhythmic gymnastics, gymnasts usually retire a her age... :) And she wasn't the same of 2004, in fact she always made mistakes in all the competitions... :)
isnt anna bessonova a little older? my dad said he cant put me in RG because i was supposed to start when ii was 6 but im only 12, can i still start at age 12?
hey age doesn't matter 3 years ago i didn't even know that rhythmic even existed and now i'm a level 7 rhythmic gymnast at the age of 15, i started at the age of 12
i agree with u rhythmiclove i luv alina also i always thought she was the best of all the gymnasts... on top of all that pressure she always smiled no matter wut mistakes she made or even how perfect her routine was this is a great montage...
i love alina no matter what any one says about her. she is the most amazing gymnast even in 2004 and onwards. she always had a smille and great presence on the mat. i hate the way people dis her so much. she always has clean routines and every body makes mistake. every single gymnast- you try all that pressure and doing a perfect routine. being a 24 gymnast must be hard on her so of course some of her routines won't be perfect but no one is! ALINA IS the greatest!
Unlike what you say in the description she isn't the first who wore a skirt !It has just been authorized since 2001 , but it has nothing to do with her.
yes, but since the maker of putting skirts into RG was Viner, of course she would give her gymnasts those certain leotards first, kabeva and alina at russian nationals that year.

what competition? Because i remeber in early 2001 the bulgarians already were some as well as Evmorphia Dona, and even Anya .
